Going on NCL Epic 4/13-4/20. We are flying into MCO 4/12 and back out 4/21, so we have an extra day on both ends of our cruise. If we stay in Orlando, what are our best options for getting to and from the port since we won’t be coming from or going directly to the airport?

Personally, I don’t think the show said anything that lots of kids aren’t already hearing on the school bus. We took our girls when they were 9 and 11. Was it inappropriate? Sure. Have they mentioned it since? Nope. So it clearly didn’t leave a lasting impression on them. We all thought it was pretty funny, and the girls loved the music.
That said, we are a very liberal family. Swearing and jokes about sex don’t offend us and we are very open and honest with our kids. I’m sure plenty of people will think I’m a terrible mother for taking them but I honestly don’t care.

Love your reviews! So happy to have another to read.
Your dad is adorable! Is he from roc as well? (I live on the west side...)

We brought 1 yeti for each family member. Just for water. Our coffee and alcohol we drank out of the cup it came in

Rccl has a 9 day southern Carib on April 12 out of Miami a 7 day out of San Juan on April 14. Just dump ncl and look at other lines
Celebrity has stuff too
I was going to book this jade 10 day but the price was outrageous compared to rccl so I already jumped ship

I saw that. We travel in the Haven so I am going to look into RCCL suite class to see how it compares price wise and amenity wise

What excursions and activities did you do?
We didn’t do any excursions really. We wanted to explore on our own. We went to the crystal caves and to the original swizzle in. Both were so fun, the caves are beautiful! The food at swizzle in was pricey but completely worth it just bc of how fun the place is.
We went to the beach near the dockyard and it was a decent beach but it wasn’t the best. We should’ve gone to one of the more popular beaches. Lesson learned, we will go next time!
We walked all over St. George, it’s a charming town. So much history.
We were going to go to Harbor nights in Hamilton but it got canceled bc of rain so we ended up wandering the dockyard and exploring. Got some glass ornaments and some rum cake (it’s beyond delicious).
There is a fun pirate ship right in the dockyard, pay a price and swim, jump from the plank all you want. Our girls were 9 and 11 at the time and had an absolute blast there.
There is still so much more we want to see so we will definitely be back

We did the BA to Bermuda last August and loved it. Bermuda is beautiful and the people are so friendly. It’s expensive to visit but IMO it’s worth it.
I will say the waters going down the coast were fairly high so the ship rocked quite a bit. But I would do the cruise again in a heartbeat

What do you consider the "Dawn's version of Haven"??
I wasn't aware they had any limited access "quiet area".
They have suites, of course, but that doesn't make a Haven, on ships like Dawn or Sun, etc.
Don't all ships have suites, regardless of whether there is an actual Haven?
Did we miss some special quiet area elsewhere on the Dawn when we stayed in one of the DOS above the Bridge?
GC
Yes, you’re right. I guess I should’ve said that we stayed suite class and had those perks.

Our April 2019 10 day Southern on the Jade was canceled. We are bound to the week bc of school breaks. The only 2 options we like are Eastern on the Epic or mex riviera on bliss. We are Haven people so right away the Bliss is out bc the price is just insane. That leaves the Epic.
Will we be happy with the Epic Haven? We have stayed in Breakaway Haven and in the Dawn’s version of Haven.
Tell me why you would or wouldn’t book the Epic, based on ship and Haven alone.

We were on this sailing as well and are crushed. We’ve been dying to go southern and this fell perfect with school break. We are so upset

Even if it’s not a huge list, I see IPAs! Must cruise on the escape or bliss soon

We were in your exact position last August. Had a mini suite booked but really wanted to try the Haven. So we booked it outright. Best (and priciest!) decision ever bc now we won’t cruise without the Haven. It’s amazing

No. Sure don't. I left and joined the Navy, made it a career and never went back. :D
Smart decision! We have 8 years before our youngest graduates and then it’s off to warmer temps for sure!

Shout out to the Rochester, NY people. My H.S. isn't even there anymore. John Marshall High School class of '77. :D
Do you still live in Roc? I am just outside of Spencerport

If that was the MSC Seaside, those balconies could have been part of the "Family Balcony suites", 3 connected balconies in the Fantastica level of cabins. MSC is very much a family oriented cruise line... not so much for solo cruisers but great for families.
It wasn’t the seaside but I can’t remember which ship it was. We had friends cruising on the seaside last week and we were never in the same place.

Just off the Dawn and we could not open the partition. We had connecting rooms though so it wasn’t an issue. We were in port with an MSC ship and saw they had balcony dividers opened in quite a few areas so it may just be an ncl rule

Me on top of an animal or something more risqué?
Bob - How much skin am I allowed to show here? Slightly below the belt?
I keep waiting for you to cruise out of Tampa so you can have your ride on the horse at TPA...

Whatever you do, don't call NCL and bring this up. They might bump you back down to Silver. BTW, I became Platinum with only 77 points, but I booked before the new rules went into effect. Looks like you got a "free upgrade" somehow...
Ha I definitely won’t do that!

If your cruise was booked before Feb 2016 you are grandfathered in to the old tier levels. No error. Enjoy. :)

We didn’t book this cruise until fall 2017 so definitely not before feb 2016.

I just checked to see if our points from our most recent cruise had been applied to my latitudes account yet. It shows I earned 21 pints for our cruise (which I thought I was only getting 14 for so bonus!). My total points says 49 but it says I’m gold level. Yet in the description it says gold doesn’t start until 55 points. Anyone know why this is? Is it a glitch?

Took our 9 and 12 year old girls to Paradise Neach. We all LOVED it. Clean, great food, beautiful pool. But the best was the inflatables in the water. The girls and I played out there for hours while DH napped in the shade. It was the best day

Epic Haven deck 16 or 17
in Norwegian Cruise Line
Posted
we were on 16 when we cruised on Epic. We usually try to book a room on the same deck as the pool/bar just for the convenience. Our kids can run back to the room to grab something and we can watch them get there so it works for us.
