  1. We always staycation in the summer and save our travel dollars for our cold winters.

I live in Nova Scotia, we are 12 days without a new case and 1 active case currently in hospital in the province.  They are currently talking of an Atlantic “bubble” soon ( nova scotia, new brunswick, newfoundland and pei) and opening up to the other provinces by mid July.

Might even check out Peggy’s Cove this summer, which we would normally avoid.

  2. Are these holiday-oriented events just right at the holidays, or all during the month of December? We are sailing the 1st thru 8th this year - never cruised in December before.

We sailed 17-23 last year, there were lots of holiday events. I figure once the ship is decorated they probably start.

I would absolutely pack your ugly sweater.

  3. I'm an east coaster from Halifax. Not sure I would try it for the prices, they seemed really high to me.

On the lobster roll debate, I'm only familiar with the mayo version, and I don't mind a McLobster.

  4. We did the king bed with 2 uppers in a Breeze interior with our 2 teens last year. They put the ladders at the foot of the pullmans. We ended up getting rid of them as our kids could easily get up there without them. Having said that the king bed set up eliminates almost all the walking space.

Instead of doing the same on our following cruise, we "upgraded" to connecting interiors, for about $200 more than had we shared again. Plus we doubled our bathrooms.

    Have a great cruise!

  5. I'm also interested in hearing what anyone knows about Lee Mason - oddly enough we're sailing on Breeze next month and Vista in November, and he'll be the CD on both ships, LOL. Not that I have ever been overly impacted by a CD - some are less irritating than others, but as I'm not typically getting involved in a lot of the shipboard activities the CD is not much of a concern to me.

We had Lee Mason on the Sunshine in Dec. He was great, very funny and seemed to be everywhere.

  6. I actually had a question about those particular cabins if you wouldn't mind answering.....do you have to walk all the way to the other end of the "main" corridor to get to the hallway that these rooms are in or is there a "shortcut" closer to the elevators not shown on the Carnival diagram? TIA

There is no short cut. That's why we chose the one's that we did. They were the 1st ones that were connecting. I can't stress enough how much we liked the set up in these cabins, worth every step!
