What would be an acceptable tip for a tour guide in Europe? And if taking a taxi, would you just round to nearest euro or tip a 1 or 2 euro coin?

Hello! I'm wondering details of getting off the ship in ports. When the Cruise Planner says we are in port from 9:00 am - 9:00 pm, what time can we actually get off the ship? Is 9:00 when the first passengers go? Is it first come, first served or do certain guests get to disembark first?

I had the same problem too. The best way I found is:

 

1. Log on to your cruise account
   
2. Select Cruise Planner tab, click Get Started
   
3. When you're in Cruise Planner, from top, select Shore Excursions > All Shore Excursions
   
4. Close to the bottom of the page, there is a MORE INFORMATION section, select the link Shore Excursion Brochure.
   
5. You will be brought to a page where you can generate a PDF file for all excursions for your trip.
   

 

This PDF have all the tour start and end time, cost, .... For excursions that are on last day,usually they will tell you where you'll be dropped off.

I'm trying to find detailed information about excursions offered by our ship. We are on Harmony June 12 - 19.

Two questions -

1. On the day we disembark we are interested in one of the excursions. The description does not tell where the tour ends - will it take us back to the port? Or the airport? Another location? How can I find out?

2. On another ship sponsored tour the "Highlight" section it says "admire Michelangelo's timeless masterpiece, "David" at the Academia Museum.." The "Highlight" implies that going in the museum is included. But, somehow I doubt it because in the "Important Notes" it says the "tour does not include guide, lunch or entrance fees..." from reading on CC and other places, I know that the Academia required time stamped entry. I tried to call RCI but after holding for about 10 minutes the live operator disconnected me! Any advice?

Thanks to everyone for the replies and insight! I think the outside tours are the way we will go!

I'm trying to make decisions about shore excursions. It seems the big downside of outside excursions is the fact that the ship won't wait if you are late. So - tell me the stories, have you ever been late and missed the ship?

How often does that happen?

If it matters, our upcoming cruise is in the Mediterranean on Harmony!

Hello! We are on Harmony of the Seas Mediterranean cruise in June. A couple of questions about the luggage valet system -

1. Can anyone use it or just suite guests?

2. Our cruise ends in Barcelona but we are going to Northern Spain after the cruise. Do we have to do anything with customs?

3. Has anyone done this recently? Did your bags make it to the final destination? Did you have any issues?

After our cruise we are visiting the family of our former exchange student in northern Spain. We are taking a suitcase full of gifts to their family. The gifts include Ky bourbon and a case of soft drinks made in Kentucky (ale 8 one). I know we can't take those items on our royal Caribbean cruise. Are there lockers avaiable where we could store the suitcase for the week? I already looked into shipping the items to the family - it will cost over $100. any suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated.

Our family of 4 wants to cruise the Mediterranean this summer. I have a room held on the new Harmony of the Seas. I have found the exact cruise on NCL's Epic. The price difference is about $3000.00 The new Harmony of the Seas looks amazing and the reviews of the Epic are average. But, I would love to hear some opinions on "splurging" or saving that money.
