  1. I've never cruised to Quebec City but I just got back from a 4 day trip. I stayed near the Chateau Frontenac and was fairly close to the cruise port. I did see Montmorency Falls while I was there but honestly would skip it if I was only in port for the day. Quebec City is an amazing place to walk around and take in the sites, shop and eat. If I were you I'd stay in the city and explore. The "Old City" is right across the street from the port. Not sure about the museum of Civilization. Enjoy your cruise!

  2. Ok ladies...I was not pleased with the pricing on the silk flowers at our port. They quoted me $180 for a bouquet and boutonnière in silk flowers. I've decided on silk because we are getting married in port in Baltimore and then we are having a private photographer do a beach shoot in Bermuda. Since live flowers can't be taken off of the ship we're going with silk rather than paying twice for flowers. I found some bulk roses on amazon and put these together. Honest opinions please! 1cbd8fd01eb9db3baafcec97fb4b2f5a.jpg7747a14cfa4d3cb5fe6984f94d250269.jpg

  3. From my understanding this fee only applies if you are not offering food during your reception.

Thanks! I'll look into it. We have the Time to Celebrate...Big package so we will have hot and cold h'ors d'oeuvres.

  4. I put the time to be on the ship so everyone knew not to be late. I also stressed the time constantly. On our wedding website we put the wedding wouldn't begin until 12:00, but everyone needed to be at the port at 10:00. It worked out very well. Nobody was late, and when everyone got on the ship, the coordinators told my guests they could browse the ship or go to the buffet as long as they were back at the lounge by 12:00.

What cruise line are you getting married on? Did you pay additional for the buffet or did they just tell your guests to go ahead? Carnival is charging me an extra $10 per non-sailing guest for the buffet (an extra $500 for us!)

  5. For wedding invitations what time are you going to put? The time we have to be on the ship or the approximate time of the wedding? Since we don't find out the time until a few weeks prior.

I put 1:00 on the invites because that's what the carnival wedding department told me. I included a detailed explanation about arrival to the port on the enclosure card.

  6. You can't have a renewal on the beach with Carnival because they hire third party companies to run their weddings in ports. Carnival on-ship personnel are in charge of planning and coordinating vow renewals.

We were pleased with everything. We worked closely with our planner in Miami to get everything set up and then worked with a coordinator once we boarded the ship to tie up the loose ends.

If there is left-over dessert you have the option to have it served at dinner. Ours lasted a few nights and it was delicious.

We pretty much had our choice of venues for the ceremony and reception. We chose to have our ceremony in the chapel and our reception in the Ivory Piano Bar next door. We didn't know the exact day and time for our ceremony, but we had it narrowed down before we boarded. VR times are subject to the availability of the captain and cannot take place on embarkation day or days with formal nights.

We did gift bags for our guests and filled them with things we've found handy on previous cruises (small bottles of sunscreen, sanitizer, highlighters, etc). We didn't brand our wedding or initials onto anything in the bag (t-shirts, hats, etc.)

I love your gift bags...especially the personalized Carnival fun Times. Amy chance you still have the template?

  8. I'm looking for anyone who has had their wedding aboard the Pride since the 2.0 upgrade. I'd love to hear about your experience, tips and any advice you have. My fiancé and I are getting married in port (Baltimore) before setting said for Bermuda on July 2, 2017.

  9. I have seen some cute invitations on weddingpaperdivas.Com we want to do a passport style invite and a postcard save the date, same style.

Is anyone planning to add details like arriving early to the port or things that can and cannot be brought aboard the ship, to their invites? How is everyone handling the very different rules for a cruise wedding?

I'm going to have an enclosure card in addition to the RSVP card with my invites. On that card, I'll outline all of the boarding procedures for both sailing and non-sailing guests as well as gift guidelines. I'll also put my website at the end for all other questions that guests may have.

  10. Hello all! We are so excited to be getting married aboard the Carnival Vista April 2, 2017. I really haven't done much planning yet. We selected our package, secured the DJ and are arranging for Engagement photos. We are hoping to send save the dates in April of this year.

I am just looking for any pointers or helpful information.

Happy sailing and congrats to all.

So far that's about all I've done as well. Since I have so many people sailing with us and everyone else on our invite list already knows the date, we probably won't be sending save-the-dates. I have started on our wedding website and researching invitations. So far, I haven't found anything that I love so I'm probably going to have to get a graphic designer involved. Oh...and I've started researching Stateroom Swag Bags too.

The thrill is in the planning!!!!!

  11. We're doing this as well! Getting married in port and plan on hiring a photographer for a beach shoot in Bermuda. Just waiting for Royal to release the dates so we can finally decide between them and Celebrity.:D

Have you researched Bermuda photographers yet? It's on my list of things to do :)

  12. We are officially booked for a Baltimore port wedding aboard the Carnival Pride on July 2, 2017! My fiancé and I got engaged in Bermuda while on the Grandeur of the Seas this past summer and loved Bermuda. Our original plan was to go back to Bermuda to get married on the beach but have decided to have a port wedding due to non-sailing guest issues instead. I am planning on hiring a professional photographer in Bermuda to do a beach shoot in our wedding attire when we get to the island. So far we have 25 staterooms booked and close to the limit of 50 non-sailing guests. So excited!!!
