  1. Thanks to everyone for your replies. I'm feeling a little easier knowing your recent experiences.

FYI I'm on FEB12th Seashore. Check in time 11:00am.

It's my first time in YC so my DW and I are super excited. If only we didn't the Pandemic to deal with!

So what if I don't agree to that?

Or should I say in part?

Perfect example. New years Eve we were at a ballroom dance with 2 dozen people. Almost all are positive. Not us.

According to the t&c we have been in close contact with those identified as positive.

    Now what?

I only by chance came across this after reading previous posts on CC. However you may find it useful?

What baffles me is why don't we all know what to do? Is it beyond the power of the CDC to make this public knowledge? In my  opinion this kind of advice should be broadcast on every TV station, Radio station. Posted on every street corner on buses and trains - I think you get the picture!

  3. I am on Seashore in February and looking forward to my first MCS experience.

In preparation, I have started reading and digesting all the requirements and restrictions in these COVID times. However, I now have a concern that I could get denied boarding,

On the MSC Website, they have a section for "Health and Safety for Cruises to Caribbean etc" . There is then the section "We will deny boarding if". This includes all the usual detail about symptoms, proof of vaccine etc plus one that is of concern to me:-

Have had potential exposure to a suspected or confirmed case of of COVID-19 within 14 days of embarkation

Does this mean that any health worker, people working in Doctors offices, Pharmacies, COVID testing stations etc are not eligible to board the cruise?

    Discuss..........

  4. Firstly I want you to thank Jim for a great, objective review of his experiences on this cruise. In my opinion, one of the standout observations is the USA/European bias on a cruise out of American ports.

I’m hijacking this post because it’s raised a few questions, in my mind, that are still questions I have after 2 years on CC.

I am a Brit living in USA and I’m still not sure what people mean by “cruise lines tailored for the American market”.

However, my question isn’t so much about how MSC have tried to accommodate the American market but i want to turn this on its head. If I was to take a Carnival, RCI, NCL etc cruise in Europe would I get a different experience than if I sailed those same cruise lines out of USA ports?

  5. I've just left Summit (Oct 22nd) and can happily report a reasonable cheese selection (Blue, Emmental, Cheddar, Brie, Gouda) every day. My only disappointment is that you've just reminded me that I never got around to trying the cheese accompanied by a smooth glass of port, especially as I had the premium beverage package. Sometimes there's never enough hours in the day.
