I am going on the first week-long Caribbean voyage out of Miami on 11/17. I think there is a 4-night leaving this Friday, but I'm not sure what happens between Tuesday and Saturday.

I won't be doing a live report, but I will be able to answer questions and report back.

I’m on it with you. I love the idea of getting on an empty ship. It will be so super ready for us!!! 😁

  2. Alright!! I got an email today- anyone else? It told me I could go reserve My Time Dining And has a RESERVE NOW link. Dining has always been an option but .. why not check.

The site was completely different. And... full of bugs. Whenever I clicked somewhere it took me out of the planner to the find your reservation screen. But, for some reason I feel like this means progress. I don’t know. Maybe they are saving our open window for the shiny new Cruise Planner. I’ll check back tomorrow. Now I’m really more curious than anything

  3. Thank you!! We are on her in Nov for Thanksgiving. I know it will be so different once it’s sailing here so it’s very hard to compare sailings but it is great to learn about the ship.

You did a great spreadsheet to visit all the dining venues, will you do an overall dining revue?

  4. The next bar was some kind of Bob Marley themed bar, no idea what the name was.

    . ;p

It has been 4 or 5 years since we did the hop but I believe that was Rastas. Granted that is at the END of the tour and nobody is ever that sober by then. The entire tour is amazing!! We did the up straight soldier ‘hello port officer we aren’t hammered’ walk back to the ship and promptly slept thru dinner. THAT is what Cozumel is all about

  5. Someone had 4 pieces of fried chicken, and I'm not saying who. The corn muffins were gone before the mains arrived.

Then dessert was someone consumed. Coconut cream pie.

2 pieces of cherry pie, but not by one person.

A fruit bowl also went awol as well. When we left 1.5 hours later the line was just as long as when we arrived. I will mention my Aunt and Uncle joined us, so it wasn't just meal for four.

Sooooo late to the party but from Bradenton (live on the other FL coast now..) and OMG Yoder’s is the best!!! Nothing bad at that place. Always love your cruise reviews but love seeing you enjoy my old home too! Needing to plan a visit to see the ILs and make a trip to Yoders. ...

  6. Final Thoughts

We booked this cruise a long time ago and waited patiently for embarkation day to come. When entertainment opened for booking, we booked all the shows we wanted to see. A few weeks before our sail date many of us on our Roll Call started to get emails changing our show times. It didn't effect us as much as others on our sailing but it was a PITA (pain in the a$$). These show changes brought conflicts with dinners and even a show changed from the evening to 3pm on a sea day. Many did not want to give up their PTH (prime tanning hours).

The reason given for the show changes was reasonable. It was to give show performers a break after their heavy work load during the short PR sailings the week before ours. Totally acceptable to me, but RC should have known/realized this months ago, if not before they opened our show calendar. This would have avoided grief for many on our sailing. ....

As always, loving your lives. Just too far from ours and need entertainment so binging on your last cruises. Funny enough, we booked and had to cancel this cruise 😢 .. life happened.

Anyway.. we are booked on Symphony it’s first Caribbean Cruise in Nov. Cruise Planner has yet to open entertainment reservations... I wonder if the kinks from Harmony’s 1st trip out might have taught them some lessons and they are being more careful and taking their time releasing the schedule for us to book. ...? I wonder?

Anyway. Thank you for THIS and all your other lives! They help keep us all busy while we wait for ours.

  7. Thank you Andrew. Yes the weather is pretty terrible today. We live about an Hr north of FLL depending on who is driving. On the way home from church only 1 of the 8 traffic lights was actually on.. horrible lightning storm, but they warned us with this ‘wave’.

It was an amazing review and today since we are stuck inside I’m logging in to check into our cruise in NOV. I think 76 days now.. maybe. Tomorrow will be shopping for some new swimsuits.

Have a safe flight home and I’ll be waiting for Oct for another live to keep me busy until symphony gets her fin across the ocean.

OH! I showed the cabin pic to my 6’4” 17 yr old son. He nearly fell over. This WILL be fun. We will take out the balcony divider and hopefully have great weather to use the balcony as an additional room. Cross fingers!!

  8. My daughter has a condition that could be well supported by a service dog. Due to the rigorous training required, the dog and training is very expensive. True service dogs are more than a pet they are investments and life lines.

The abuse and rampent use of these emotional dogs (these pocket pets) has poisoned the waters for those who truly need service dogs. Those with visible disabilities won’t be thought of twice. Those with invisible ones like my Emma you have no idea why she would have it. Vets with PTSD (also invisible disability) even qualify for the full Service dog who wears the ‘I’m working’ vest.

These highly trained dogs and handlers aren’t the issue and it’s sad when the whole concept is getting questioned.

  9. Very scary but assured in how well it’s handled. You’d know it’s have to be as large an organization RCL is. We travel with insurance and we are ‘young’. But my daughter has Type 1 diabetes. In 3 yrs she’s only been hospitalized once outside of diagnosis and it was bc of the flu. But traveling in a pertri dish and in other countries. You never know. I’d so much rather have the insurance than not. We chose to cruise over travel to another country because they have the facilities and are equipped to care for and evacuate in case of emergencies.

I’m glad these passengers got taken care of. Scary thought about the blood tho... many cruisers cannot donate bc they travel to countries on the ‘no no’ list. Honduras (Roatan) is a Port.. you can’t donate for 1 yr after visiting. I’m sure there are more.

  10. Cozumel is so easy to drive around. If you have your own snorkel gear and do your homework you can be on your own time to explore and snorkel. We were there on cruises and a land vacation and I would never waste money on a tour unless they were taking me to a fantastic reef that wasnt reachable by shore. I'd reserve a car now if you cant drive manual.

Thank you so much!! We got the reservation and DH can drive manual so no problems there. Thanks for the tip on photos Bf we leave of the state of the vehicle. I’ve already been looking at maps and noting some of the beaches it suggests to snorkel at.. looking forward to a really great day!!

  11. We always rent a jeep and drive to Coconuts and stop at a few other places. Just be smart, and careful. Have fun!

Hi - how / who from do you rent the Jeep? This is exactly what we want to do. We've been there a few times, have done the tours and now just want to explore the places we've been - on our own. AND we want to rent a jeep, not a sedan. THANK YOU!

  12. We took this tour off while in Cozumel with Carnival in 2014. We still talk about this randomly at least every couple of months. It is a Great tour company and VERY fun experience.

We're going back to Cozumel in the fall and renting a jeep to visit some of the bars on our own (and NOT get as hammered). LOL but it is just an absolute BLAST! Just last night he was talking about how cool one of the guys he buddied up with was. LOL A MUST DO!

  13. Personally, I would get the letters from the other parents just in case, cover all your bases.

We are in this same boat. Really just affects our 13yo as the other 2 are 16.. we are asking for the passport form now and she’s putting stipulations on it. Not sure what will happen when we ask for the letter. Wishing we’d added right to travel when we modified custody a few years ago.

  14. I think my countdown is around 410 days.. 7/1/2017 so i'm so just excited for her to sail and stoked to have you doing a live blog to start hearing about her for real!

Questions... None yet really that I can think of. Of course I'm curious about room configs, which have bed by balcony, bed by bathroom but I have plenty of time to figure out which way OUR room is setup. 122282 / 122284

How do the GPS thingees work?

Is there a wipeout grill by the kids space like on the other Oasis ships?

Does the wine bar down in CP sell tapas like it does on Allure / Oasis (name is slipping right now)
