Are there many cruises that take in 100+ countries and has anyone done one?

I have only been in the Haven once and the Haven only restaurant was absolutely fantastic. 

We booked and paid a deposit on a Haven cruise in 2021, we paid the deposit but are miles away from the final payment. 
 

I have done a “mock” booking after the latest Black Friday promotion and if we were to book the exact same holiday with the exact same benefits right now it would cost approx €800 less. 
 

I just rang NCL to see if I could avail of the lower rate and I was told that the only way I could do that would be to cancel the booking and book again. However, I was told that the cancellation fee would be €1,927 and therefore it would not be worth my whole as we would be losing money!
 

I have read loads of posts on here of people who have booked a cruise and then availed of lower prices when there’s been a price drop. However, in this case the NCL person told me I couldn’t do it. Am I doing something wrong?

I’m making the booking from Ireland in case there’s a difference between how US and Europe customers are treated. 
 

Any advice would be much appreciated.

On the confirmation PDF that NCL sends, there are a bunch of codes in the upper right corner. I believe the extra Latitudes points code is LATVIP, so if that's there, you'll get the double points. (And someone will correct me if I'm wrong on the code that gives you the points. 🙂 )

 Thanks for the response, I just checked where you said and the only codes are BROCHURE and FAS4ALL - cruise was booked on 23rd October.

Hi all,

just wondering about the ports on the Western Med cruise. 
 

We’ll be doing the following ports - Rome, Naples, Florence & Pisa, Cannes, France and Palma De Mallorca, Spain.
 

Anyone good info on the ports? In any of them are you within walking distance of the cities in that you can just stroll off the ship at the quay and have a look around... or are you berthed miles away from anything that you have to book an excursion or tour?

Did it on the Getaway a few years ago, was a bit of craic but wouldn’t do it again, underwhelming. 

I see the Epic is going for a 2 week dry dock late next year. What kind of work can take place in that short time?

I’m hoping for a new bar with a massive amount of different beers... but doubt that will be happening!

Anyone any ideas?

I see the Epic is scheduled for an approx 2 week dry dock in late 2020. Generally speaking what happens in these dry docks?  Could a lot of work be done in two weeks like upgrades on the boat or would it only be a bit of paint and some minor touching up of the ship?

Is alcohol free in The Haven Bar when you’re staying there or do you still need the drinks package?

We’re looking at booking a 2 bed family villa with balcony on a Western Med cruise in 2021. 
 

Does anyone have any experience of Deck 17 and what the good/bad rooms might be?

Just wondering do we need to avoid certain rooms that might be close to lifts or crew doors etc... 

I see there’s also a fitness area on deck, does this add much noise to the area or is it well protected?

Any info is really appreciated, the room we’re currently looking at is 17024.

just wondering how hot these places are at this time of year and whether it would be hot enough to spend some of the days by the pool on the ship?  We’ll have 2 kids with us who would want to be in the pool a lot!

Being from Ireland we don't have a tipping culture like Americans do. Quite simply nobody in Ireland (bar waiting staff) expects tips. As a result I don't know who I should tip and what amount. Can folk make suggestions.

We're just coming to the end of an incredible week in the Getaway which completely exceeded our expectations.

We're in the Haven so that might add to whom we need to tip.

Travelling on the Western Caribbean cruise on 16th October as my honeymoon with my wife to be.

We're staying in Miami the night before and the night after the cruise.

As such are there any really cool bars or restaurants that we must really try to get to?

Would be great to get some recommendations.
