I am a first time cruiser. I am looking to book shore excursions, but not through the cruiseline. How do I know what times to choose? I am sailing out of Tampa to Grand Cayman and Cozumel which are both one hour behind Tampa. Just confused as to how to book these. Any help is greatly appreciated!
Just check your itinerary to see what time the ship reach's each port. When you go to the excursion site it will usually say how long the excursion lasts and you can go by that. The companies that run the excursions make there living doing this and they know when the ship is in port and when it leaves so they're pretty good at getting you back in time.

I just picked the Conquest today, I picked it because it leaves on a Saturday instead of Friday. :D

I have to disagree, I use my balcony as a second room because I wake up really early so I sit out there until my family wakes up :)We would always book balconies at one time. Now i never consider a balcony, love the OV. Nothing to do with the $. I love the space of the OV as, the balcony cut into the interior space of the room.I also love being close to the water... looking straight out and seeing the waves, rather than leaning over to see and / or up so high
the only time i would consider a balcony now, would be the Cove Balcony, again so close to the water.
we also find, we never use the balcony much. Sure its great to have your coffee in the morning or wine in the evening but, over 7 mornings and 7 evenings, total of 10 Hours whole cruise? Max? just not used even when we have one.

I would love to have a 0.00 balance at the end of a cruise, but I don't think that could ever happen! 🤑

I buy a nice thank you card and give money.

I got an email yesterday that said Carnival was having a summer sale. I'm cruising in August so I did a mock booking and it was $120.00 cheaper so I called my pvp and she took the 120.00 off! :)

I've been on NCL and truthfully it wasn't any different than Carnival. Well maybe the shows were a bit better, they had a Cirque type show that was really good other than that it was the same.

The casino money is only $50.00... For me anyway. You just go to the casino desk and they have a list.We still a month until final payment. I put in 2 different price adjustment requests and only 1 came back, it wasn't this one[emoji30].People keep saying that usually there is some casino money involved?? Where do I see that?
If I go with a different promotion I pay 12.00 more but get a 50.00 OBC. But if there is casino money it might be more. Any advice????

I don't know if your still interested, but we flew into FLL several years ago late after midnight and stayed at the Hilton across from the airport, their shuttle picked us up and we were even able to get room service!

On our last cruise we had a five hour delay....so thank god we left the day before! If it were the day of we would of missed the cruise. Our next one we're leaving at 8:45 pm and getting to FLL at 12:00 am just so we're there the day before. Its to stressful leaving the day of!

Very few hotel shuttles run that late - there will always be taxis available.
Thank You!

We will be getting in really late (after 12:00 AM) the night before our cruise. We're flying into Fort Lauderdale and I plan on staying there for the night, I'm just wondering if shuttles run that late. Taxis are always there right?

Lots of bad reviews on Vista, and the Magic will be much cheaper.
Yes I can get a suite on the Magic for a little more than a balcony on the Vista.

I really liked the Elation! The food on all the ships is pretty much the same. I think I would spring for the ocean view though, I just like the light and the kids can look out the window. My son is 19 and he'll be platinum on our next cruise and he had always loved camp carnival when he was young. Your kids will have a great time, the size of the ship doesn't matter. Bon Voyage!

I'm trying to decide which cruise, they both leave the same day, both have the same itinerary, just different ships leaving at different ports....Vista {Miami} of course is newer, but Magic{Port Canaveral} had a makeover in 2016 any opinions?
-
I'm going back and forth between the Magic and Vista same itinerary, same date just different ship and port.

No....and i check!!

Whenever we travel, we usually travel with our prescription medicines (blood pressure, cholesterol, etc.) in a pill box that sorts them daily. On Carnival's site, they said you have to bring the bottles with your name on it. We really don't want to pack 6 to 7 bottles.
Has anyone have any issues with Carnival regarding prescription medicines not in their original bottle?
I use the Sunday-Saturday pill holders and have never had a problem. :)

I think he means that all the cabins pretty much look the same, all the balcony rooms look the same, all the insides look the same and all ocean views look the same they're just in a different location and some locations are not as good as others.

My family has decided that we're also staying on the ship in Belize, and we also have never done that so I'm glad you wrote about it and liked it.

It's OBC I had it in September and again when I go in March. I used it for excursions, casino, dining.... everything!
