Sailed in January on the Getaway. FYI drink packages also do not include water. I pre-ordered bottled water on the NCL website before the cruise which was in our cabin on arrival. These are the large size bottles. If you want to bring water with you to the pool or to walk around with pack a smaller bottle to refill.

Just returned from the Getaway. I was booked in a regular balcony cabin, actually a “bump out” cabin so the balcony was much lager than those on either side if us, but anyways I bid $1,000 pp for a Haven upgrade. Two days before sailing I received an email it was not accepted. Didn’t matter. Saved money in the long run. Will book the Bliss for next year and again try and get the larger bump out cabin.

is there self disembarkation on the Getaway? Will be cruising in January. Last year cruised on RCL Allure. We were able to keep our suitcases the last night and walk off the ship in the morning. Off the ship in minutes. Was nice not to have to put the suitcases out at night and find them the next morning in the madness.

We are also coming from Boston but we usually fly down the night before. By what some people have posted it sounds like the boarding groups are assigned randomly. It sounds like I shouldn't get my hopes up for vibe passes and the loungers in the spa area appear to be all indoors.

I know this is a long way before my Nov. 12 sailing...I am not liking what I've read regarding the over crowded pool areas and people saving lounges before dawn...is there any way or time we should be at pier to be among those first to board in order to purchase Vibe passes? Where are these passes sold? I'm also thinking the first night would be a good night to reserve a specialty restaurant since everyone will be looking for food after the sail away party...the ship sails at 7, about an hour later for a reservation? We are booked in a mid ship balcony on deck 15 back toward the elevators...are there noise issues from the garden cafe above? Also, can you carry on several bottles of water? Thanks!
