  1. Used to be Papa Vitos, but they are just swamped lately. Snowbirds. ;)

A NY pizza is good, so is Anacapri, but they aren't answering phone lately. Jazzys Mainly Lobster has best onion rings ever. Haven't been in forever because of Laura's diet.

BTW, that quote "Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels" is a bold face lie ;)

Oh, and Sharktank pizza is pretty good, plus you get a pitcher of beer with it. :D

If you have time and can get over there, Ryan's (in Cocoa Village) has pizzas that most closely resemble new York style.

  2. When's your boarding/check in time? I thought Carnival was starting staggered boarding/check in times at PC later this summer.

If not, when did you want to get to the cruise terminal? I'd say it would be better to keep the car over night (you're paying for it) and then head for the agency/terminal when ever you want to leave. Why spend the extra $ on a taxi or have to wait for a shuttle to drive around to other terminals first. If you use Hertz and stay at either Country Suites, Residence Inn or Radisson, that agency is right there (next to Residence). Budget is just a short distance down the road. Enterprise is down in Cocoa Beach. But if you're staying in Cocoa Beach, dropping off at any of these on your way to the port is the best way to go.

Enterprise just opened a larger rental place at the port. The Enterprise in Cocoa beach has fewer cars now that they are phasing that location out.

  3. This is a really interesting post that I'm going to have to bookmark. My friend and I are doing an NCL Baltic cruise (same ports as OP listed) in may and I have been struggling with what we should plan to bring. My difficulty is that since I live in central Florida and she lives in Hawaii, most northern places in general feel relatively cool to us. I checked out the weather underground for average temperatures in early may for these locations and Temps range from 70-80 in Copenhagen to 50s in St. Petersburg. (Fehrenheit, sorry). Layering and versatility will be crucial.

  4. I always take Bonine (12.5 mg of Meclizine makes me less drowsy than Dramamine) it is available over the counter in the U.S (and on Amazon) and readily available on the ship as well, but I do not know what is sold in the U.K. It is recommended to take it BEFORE sailing. I usually take one everyday that the ship is to be "at sea".

Bonine and Triptone are my go-to meds as well. I get motion sick even from diving due to an incorrectly healed ear infection. Take those meds starting at noon on the day before and then every 12 hours after. Not drowsy at all.

  5. In my experience more people are dressed up than casual. Depends on the clientele/itinerary (read: cruise length) though.

Thanks for that info. Will be going in May and be the first time in a Suite. Don't quite know what to expect...

  6. To clarify, there are two different types of Family Suite on the Spirit. The Two Bedroom Family Suite (SC) is a fairly standard configuration on NCL ships, with a smaller bedroom (with ensuite), a living area and the main bedroom and a bathroom. It also has a balcony.

The "Family Suites" (SJ) are just one big room (plus bathroom obviously), but it is pretty big. It doesn't have a balcony, but has a very large window. As far as I'm aware, these rooms are only found on a small number of ships (Star and Dawn are the only ones I know for sure).

Keith - I have a SJ family suite booked for early May (Baltic Cruise. There are 2 single room family suites on deck 12 that are also handicapped rated that have (what I have been told are) "partial balconies". Not sure what that means but thought you might want to know. I am in SJ 12532
