  1. I’m looking directly at Royal Caribbean’s website and these cabins do not connect. It is possible they used to and no longer do, but it’s odd.

MikeBTN, you could be on to something that at one time the Deck plan did show connecting.

Cruise Critic’s Harmony deck plan DOES show 12670 & 12672 staterooms as connecting.

    OP,

Ask TA if Royal would check with the ship, maybe latest deck plans are incorrect, and they do connect after all.

  2. Allison,

I’m sorry your son had to go through that, and glad that he was able to message you and your husband. I empathize with your son. Kids are trained to do what adults in leadership positions say. He may not have thought to question the AO staff or ask for help.

I would like to thank you for posting the thread. It is a good reminder that on our next family cruise, we need to discuss with the kids (9 and up) what to do in certain situations. We will make sure they know they can- and should- ask for help if needed.

    Thanks for posting!

  3. . ...

I've called the Crown & Anchor team numerous times to seek their help .... They have tried different things, including creating a new account & trying to connect that way, all to no avail. ...

Question is what else can I do to get this issue fixed with RCCL? )

The creation of a new account makes me nervous

Somewhere in the long thread on Website change (merging Royal account and Celebrity; single sign-on) someone posted an email for IT help with the website. Sorry, I don’t know which post.

    Good luck!

  4. Next May on Mother's day week ...This is going to be my brother and his family first cruise ever. They really wanted a balcony cabin.

We just found out that there is no such thing as a three person accessible balcony cabin on the Bliss as well as other ships and cruise lines.

    .

Not necessarily true that other cruise lines do not have accessible balcony cabins for 3.

Just did a mock book of Celebrity Solstice, 7 night cruise May 10, and it showed 4 accessible rooms for 3 people still available over the Mother’s Day sailing. (7143, 6135, 6137, 6141).

Perhaps call a travel agent who can tell you which cruise lines and ships sailing Alaska during the time you need DO have accessible 3-person balconies.

    Good luck!

    ,

  5. Interesting thread.

I’m OK with either option, and support those who said, just include gratuities in price of the trip.

For the restaurant model, during the KSF promotions, the ship would lose out on gratuities for all the $0 kids in a cabin.

With current system, during KSF for a family of 4 in a cabin, even though only the 2 adults pay the cabin fare - all 4 (2a+2k) pay the daily gratuities.

  6. OP, there are other 3-person inside rooms available on a “scanner” website.

    They are 3V (11439), and 1V (3830, 3811, 3838) available.

Any chance you could ask them to reassign to one of those categories?

Regardless, wishing your family a wonderful cruise, and thank you for alerting us to this guarantee problem.

** EDIT - sorry, OP, missed your previous comment where you already tried switching and no go. **

  7. Thanks OP, for the pictures.

The fact that the filter was so clogged, but then they tried to re-use the same filter after they knocked the dust off, makes the situation even more troubling.

Did either the HD or Corporate give you any indication of the standard maintenance cycle of the filters on the ships? Curious if Is this another cut back.

    Thanks again for the heads-up.

  8. anyone do this? Do you get off the ship for the smaller boat then back on later? Do you end up in Juneau? Trying to undersrand how this works or wondering if they mislabeled it and it really is a Juneau excursion.

Check Trip Advisor for reviews. I did this excursion in 2011, and I believe Allen Marine tours was the vendor. They boarded us from the ship as we approached Tracy Arm.

Our small ship went independently and up close to tour the glaciers. Had a great tour, free hot beverages. They also had a small snack bar for purchases.

Loved the naturalist commenting on wildlife, and they did have binoculars for us to use, and we met the ship as she docked in Juneau. We pulled up alongside and boarded the ship, before they let the other passengers debark.

My experience was 7 years ago, so may not be the most current info.

Enjoy ! I loved this tour.

  9. I just saw in another post that the cabin that are close to the middle of the ship, by the centrum tend to be noisy at night, at least until midnight. Two nights ago I booked cabin 7582, category 1M, which is an ocean view larger cabin. How bad is the noise? We are not late night people.

... What to do? I am worried.

We had 7084 (opposite side) in January. We would definitely book it again.

We didn’t have any issue with noise at night since they closed the doors along those corridors about 10:30 or so.

We loved the convenience of being midship. And if we were in our cabin when the entertainment started during the day, we heard and could go watch.

Deck 7 is a great place to look down on the activities & entertainment. There are even some comfortable chairs located up there.

Enjoy your cruise! The crew were outstanding!

    Added:

If you have young children who need to nap, then they may be bothered by the music from the centrum during the day.

  10. Does anyone know if Liberty of the Seas has it's muster outside if it's raining? .

Arrive early for muster drill, and you will be lined up against the wall.

Later arrivals will be in front of you, so you will be more protected from the elements.

We had a cold front the morning of our January Vision cruise. It was about 35 and windy in Galveston. We chose to get to muster early for exactly that reason - so more passengers in front of us would block the cold wind.
