  1. My apologies if this has been posted before. I didn't see anything when I scrolled through a few pages.

We have always done the carnival trip protection, however I am interested in looking at other options. The wife and I are in pretty decent health, so I don't worry as much about the medical coverage as I do the possibility of a need for an unplanned immediate need to return home. My father isn't in terrible health, but he is the most frail of my parents. We are booked for a journeys cruise, and I'd like to find coverage to get us home ASAP in the unfortunate (and hopefully unlikely) event he becomes seriously ill or passes away.

Can anyone shed some insight as to good companies to purchase insurance from for this situation? I did a brief google search, and I'm more confused and frustrated than I was before.

    Thanks!

  2. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to when they offer them but it has been pretty frequently lately.

Just keep checking or jump on as soon as you see one of these posts pop up!

I managed to grab a few, but it seems you must have enough to "pay in full" before they credit to your account, or pay the remaining balance by another method. Is this your experience as well? Luckily we have enough time to try to "stockpile" cards to pay off the cruise.

  3. Thank you all so much for your extremely valuable insight. We certainly aren't jewelry experts, and you've brought up a number of good points.

We will continue to look here at home for the "set of her dreams." I had concerns about these advertised places each time you leave the ship, but we certainly aren't cruise experts either!

  4. We have never bought jewelry while on a cruise, but this year my wife is interested in updating her wedding set.

Can anyone provide insight for in port shopping? Are the deals that good, and is the quality the same as we would receive here stateside?

Our next cruise will be to St Kitts, San Juan, St Thomas, Antigua, Barbados, Grenada, and St Marteen.

Are there any places anyone could recommend to shop or avoid?

    Thanks in advance!

  5. Thank you all so very much! I am very excited to go there, however my parents travel agent told them we needed to avoid it, that upon disembarkation into the port we would be met by a strong military/police presence with machine guns. My first reaction was "yay, safety!" met by my mothers concerns that id be viciously murdered outside the gates. I am excited to see something new, and understand that like anywhere, each city/country has its less than optimal viewing points.

  6. We are headed to Belize for the first time in October. We have scheduled an excursion with Carnival, but all I have ever heard is how unsafe the area is. Any insight from past travelers? Thanks!
