  1. So this cruise is now on day 6 (which I believe would be a day at sea) and tomorrow is day 7 which would be Coco Cay. Does anyone have any intel on positive numbers (passengers or crew) at this point? And also, does a chartered cruise have the same requirements to report numbers to the Bahamas as a non-chartered RCCL cruise? Will we see RCCL exchanging crew tomorrow morning on the pier as it has done for other ships? Ordering breakfast sandwiches and coffee for tomorrow morning to watch the show on Youtube, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and CC.

Unless this somehow makes headlines, the only "public" perception will be amongst the tiny minority here on CC.

Yes, I always thought the population on CC is tiny and shrinking over time. That is why I started joining the Facebook groups for cruises. And the public perception is now being developed on that very small population of increasing viewers as well. You know they say watch out for the small dogs as they do have bigger friends. Again, no info on numbers of affected will be released for this cruise as it will all be swept under the rug.

Someone reported earlier there’s been a death onboard and from what we’ve seen, there is a high probability of positive cases onboard. Who is responsible for quarantine expenses and flying passengers home?  The charter organizers?  RCI?

Well I am seeing the broom and it looks like someone is lifting the rug to sweep all the "results" of the cruise under it. I don't think you will hear any news on number of cases for passengers on this cruise. Keep in mind, it is now at the half way point of the 7 day sailing. No news yet!  The last opportunity for info on cases may be on the last day of the cruise as they are scheduled to stop at Coco Cay. Are they still required to report crew/passenger cases for this stop?

  4. I have asked these questions for over 3 weeks now. Some posts/threads have been deleted and others no interest at all. I am on the very next cruise following this chartered cruise. I got a bad feeling about this as the testing requirement was fulfilled on Friday. Yet, a great majority of these passengers were partying both Friday and Saturday nights in Miami. I assume some of these party locations in Miami/South Beach don't have social distancing and masking rules. So these same majority of passengers get on Oasis and start partying from Sunday through Saturday. If anyone believes this cruise will end with a 50 passenger and 35 crew covid positive result, you are truly wishing upon a star for decent results. I hope Royal has 200 + crew ready to be moved to Oasis on January 23rd. Just my opinion. Yet we will just have to wait and see. Buying more popcorn today and awaiting social media and CC posts daily.

  5. I am probably going to be banned from CC for this inquiry that will have responses across the board on current events. This event/cruise is considered to be as big of a party event as a Mardi Gras cruise. The cruise leaves on Sunday, but the party will have started in Miami as early as Friday. What efforts can the Oasis crew and management do to limit the apparent spread that is already happening throughout the industry. Just curious as I know people who are booked for the following week's cruise on the 23rd. So I am actually asking for a friend. And before I close (and potentially banned), I would like to say thank you to all of you. I have found great information and have had the opportunity to pre-plan for cruises due to the info/strategies I have read on this forum. Keep up the good work posters.

  6. I was speaking with another fellow cruiser of Royal and the question came up regarding Covid Quarantining and Star Class. So I said I would ask (risk shooting the messenger) the question to the CC forum. Please answer if you personally know of a star class passenger who has experienced covid on a ship or if you were a star class passenger recently who tested positive while on a ship. Did you quarantine in your star class suite or did you have to move to another deck (let's say deck 4 or 6) to an oceanview cabin? Thank you for your response.

Go with the rapid antigen test, it is far less capable of finding lingering covid.  As to the pre boarding questioner,,

Let's be honest. The OP can still pass on the virus on the ship. So, I ask everyone else besides you two...Are these two part of the problem with the virus getting on and spreading on the cruise and thus causing some of the issues on the cruise and also the closing of ports? Or am I not looking at this clearly?

So which happens first.......they run out of islands to go to or they run out of crew....not good.

You make a very valid point here. During the months of September thru November, I witnessed on 3 cruises a large number of staff buying last minute gifts before disembarking for the end of their contracts. They were being replaced by the crew that were in quarantine for 2-3 weeks prior. My guess would be they run out of islands (especially if St. Marteen and Mexico start imposing stricter restrictions like PR, ST and others).

I hope it works out soon (like in two weeks).

  9. Game Changer!!! Now I will sit back and await the new Lift and Shift option for 2022 (1st Quarter Sailings). This restriction will affect all 3, 4, 5 and longer sailings for eastern caribbean.  And before people start yelling at me...I am just looking at this logically from a business and a consumer perspective.

We are booked on the Navigator OTS January 14th in CA. We just got a letter warning of changes in protocols and potential limits on activities. Thing is, we really want to go if the ship is low capacity. We were on the Dec. 13 sailing at less than 50% and it was great!

The only way that I have found out is just about a week out from your cruise date. I have joined the Facebook group for my ship for the week before. By reviewing the posts from the group someone tends to ask someone who knows (hotel manager and the like) about the following week capacity. I have taken 3 cruises since September 2021 and have had very close if not accurate capacity numbers prior to my actual cruise.

  11. I was on the November 28th cruise for Anthem. While the Hotel Manager (Angel) did state (in two seperate venues...C&A event and Cheers with an Officer event) that Anthem is slowly increasing their capacity over the next 2 - 3 months. However, he did not mention any cruises over that time period being at full capacity (let alone Xmas sailing). He did state that they will be at about 4,000 passengers by mid January for their 12-night cruise season. It is on these longer cruises where they tend to have the highest returning guests populations (Pinnacles and Diamond-Plus).

We are on the Dec 11th Allure out of Fort Lauderdale and the last time we were on Allure, they carried buffalo trace products (specifically Blanton's).  Does anyone know if they still do.  A few years ago they told us they were exclusive distributor of their products.

I am fresh off the Anthem today and I purchased 2 bottles of Blanton's at $89 each. So the price of $89 is very consistent on various ships. However, if you want to know for sure if your Allure sailing has it (and at what price), you may want to join the Facebook group for this current week/sailing (ie. Allure of the Seas, December 4, 2021) to have someone on board confirm the item status on the ship. I found by joining those groups have benefitted me with a wealth of information. Good luck in your search and enjoy your cruise.
