We are doing the barrier reef cruise on explorer 30 aug. We usually book tours privately but it seems that in this instance ships tours are the only option. We are visiting cairns (docked) airlie (tender), and port douglas (tender). Are there tour operators available for booking on the dock? We are considering kuranda train and skyrail, gbr snorkelling and naybe a cenic flight. Any help that can be provided would be great

Hi guys,
Looking for updated information. We are heading to the islands next month in a group and were looking to head to escapade island. We have visited amadee and duck island previously and were hoping to check out another island. We have found tours that go to escapade but little to no information on doing the island independently.
I can see we can get the ferry from port moselle, however different sites seem to have different infornation in regards to timetables, etc.
Does anyone who has done this recently have a working link to the correct ferry timetable and can advise of cost? Also interested in cost in using pool and buffet etc in comparison to not.
We are a group of 10+ adults and kids
Thanks!

Am on the spirit at the moment and although i dont have a measuring device. The A4 funtimes fits cleanly standing up with approx 5-6 cms of further clearance. Perfect for us to stowaway and stay on board!

Thanks for all of your replies. We were thinking of doing the markets first then heading to richmond time permitting then up the mountain. Being country dwellers driving isnt an issue for us! Is there a car rental place close to the markets? Thanks again for all of the replies!

Hi,we will be on cruise stopping in hobart next month. We want to visit mt wellington, the salamanca markets (theyre open the day we are there) and the little hobart town minature village. I cant find a half day tour that takes in mt wellington and richmond. We have considered hiring a car, to pickup after we visit the markets, but as novices in the hobart region are not sure if it is realistic to get to these three places? Does anyone have any advice?

I find that the way you engage someone is the way that the person will engage you back. On 3 visits to noumea i have had nothing but friendliness, including laughter with a stall holder over my terrible high school french. Remembering that the locals are people too and speaking to them in that manner rather than people who are only there to serve you will always get you a better response. Go in with a positive attitude and you will have a posiitve experience!

Christmas isnt cheap. My recommendation would be a carnival cruise. Have been on 2 cruises with them with my extended family and thoroughly enjoyed both. Trivia we love and there was a great range across every day. The group trivial pursuit game each day was our favourite. With a large coloured dice to determine the groups category question. The ships have mini golf, sports courts and waterslides as well plenty of activities. We had kids teenagers and young adults in our group and everyone found plenty to do.
My nephew and also a cousin (8 and 14) are both on the spectrum and the crew could not have been any better with them. Especially the waiters in the mdr who made were great. Both boys are constantly begging to go again! Especially for the 24/hr pizza!
Carnival will have a lot of kids on board but for a fun family vibe it is great!
