  1. This is going to be my first time cruising while on peritoneal dialysis. Has anyone ever checked in at New Orleans when carrying on their own supplies. I am bringing 7 boxes of fluid for my 5 day cruise. I will have all of the other supplies in my carry on. I am worried about leaving the boxes with the porter and then it gets lost. I would have to get off if that were the case.

  2. I posted this on the Carnival board but I wanted to put it here in case someone can help

This is my first time cruising while on Peritoneal dialysis. I will be bringing boxes of fluid with me instead of having it shipped. I haven't been able to find anything stating how to check in the boxes. I can carry on my peripheral supplies but the boxes are too bulky to carry. Is there a special needs desk at New Orleans where I check in? I need to ensure that the boxes get on the ship. Can anyone tell me the procedures?

  4. Our kids who were 7 and 8 last October loved the kids club on the breeze. They pretty much abandoned us. (oh darn). The counselors were incredible. expect to be asked for your choice for room cleaning time. morning, evening or both. They will love the water slide. Guy's burgers and the Blue Iguana have great food. Go to have fun and you won't be disappointed. Ask your steward for ice. Get to know him or her. The same with the dining room staff. It makes the cruise that much more enjoyable. They don't do the chocolates on the bed any more. No tablecloths except on formal nights (I didn't miss them)

  5. We were at Nachi this past October. one of the things that I remember was that there were a lot of big buses waiting to take people back to the ships. with 100 people allowed per day, it is intimate and never feels crowded. One thing that I want to point out and it may be this way at all of the beaches. The sand at Nachi is very deep. If you are fluffy, it can be a little hard to navigate through it. You do tend to sink down. It is a quiet beach. No inflatables, No loud groups of kids. The pool is small but nice. Swim up bar. Great dining room. We love it. The service is 2nd to none.

  6. On our balcony on the Breeze which is a sister ship, our balcony door had a sliding bolt lock up high to prevent our kids from going out onto the balcony if we weren't out there. I hope that this gives you some peace. If you are out there with your kiddo, you will be great. We loved the cove balcony. The stateroom seemed quieter. We clipped our wet clothes to the chairs and they never even fluttered in the breeze so not a lot of wind. We enjoyed the shade though

  7. We are sailing on the Vista and want to purchase FTTF. We were on the Breeze last year and had zone 3 debarkation zone and FTTF. Did we receive that zone # because we had FTTF or was it just a fluke? We have an 8 hour drive and don't want zone 35 and with 2 kids can't carry all our own luggage. We are just trying to decide if FTTF is worth it or not. Thanks

  8. On our last cruise in October on the Breeze, and on locations on this site, I saw the signs that only Diamonds, Platinum and FTTF guests have access to their staterooms before 1:00. My PVP (who has been with Carnival since at least 2005) swears up and down that Suite guests have access to their staterooms as well. I told her about the sign that I saw on the doors to the hallway stating who can go in early. She says it is because we were on a deck (2) that didn't have any suites so the sign wouldn't say that suite guests are allowed in early. I think that she was pulling that fact out of thin air. I think that if I want early access (and I do, due to the fact I have a couple of kids) I need to purchase FTTF. Can anyone offer their experiences. It makes no sense to me that Carnival would make 2 different signs simply because a deck didn't have a suite on it.

  9. As someone who has used one, I recommend that you get one with the front tires that are not solid rubber. If you have knobby, air filled tires, it is easier to go over obstacles. I have used mine with the solid rubber tires and hit the gaps in sidewalks and have the handle jerked out of my hands. Rocks are bad too. They are wonderful to have but I learned quickly.

  10. The cove balconies are on deck 2 on Dream Class ships and Vista Class. I am unsure if the stateroom size is any different but the balconies are bigger than the balcony I had on the Conquest. you can walk around the chairs. The balcony is deeper. You might have ocean spray on the chair or the rail but unless it is a storm, there won't be much. You are only about 20-30 above the water.

Like a previous poster said, look at the deck plans and stay away from being under the galley.I will get one again in a heartbeat

  11. We got off the Breeze a month ago and they had the new Digital Photos. I am a cheap rat bastage and didn't want to pay their prices but the boss overrode me. You can have the pictures printed out still, you can have them put on a flash drive or you can have them downloaded to your phone. That is the option that we chose. They were still expensive though still the cheapest option. I think that we got 14 pics for $210 approx.

You can view the pictures that you want on a tablet and delete them, save them as favorites or do nothing right away. They do offer packages at different prices. Ask the personnel there and they will be glad to help you out. They did us.

  12. Mrs. H,

Thank you for reading my review. I was hoping for hundreds of people responding and multiple pages. Guess i am not as interesting as I had hoped. We are looking at the Vista in 2019 (as soon as they open it up, that is) and we would do the same thing.Nacogdoches was a good mid point for the trip. BTW, I am very jealous of your signature.

We are also from the Little Rock area (Benton). We did exactly what the OP did on 10/6: drove to Nacogdoches and stayed there for the night. We sailed out on 10/7 on the Freedom. We turned Platinum on this cruise - you'll get to enjoy the benefits of being Platinum on this cruise instead of having to wait until the next cruise like other lines. :) We will be on the Breeze again on 12/10/17. Loved her so much last year that we rebooked for the same week this year. Same cabin, too. OP: Try Lighthouse Parking next time - have used them several times and love them!
