Check out both park n go and park n fly. Pre pay before you go for a cheaper rate. You park in their secure lot, they pick you up at your car, take you right to the ship and are usually there waiting when you get off. So much easier and cheaper. We are leaving 11/15 for 11 days and park n go cost was $124
And they deal with the port traffic so you don't have to.

Depends on the cruise line...usually pax using wheel chairs go first. So if the goal is 11:30 start, the wheel chairs will go first, at about 11:30.
Thanks.

Curious : are there any onboard classes for apple products?

I am diabetic and travel with bottles of insulin. I found a cooling bag made by FRIO. There are special beads in the inner bag that get cold with regular water. They work well and come in different sizes.
Google FRIO cooling products.
I was told my my pharmacy that individual bottles of insulin can be kept at room temp for 28 days with no problems.

We sailed to Bermuda 5 years ago from NYC. Left NY 4 hours before Sandy hit. Capt. went to Bermuda south between US coast and the storm. Very scary. We had an 8th floor corner balcony and took water under our sliders. Winds were 135 miles per hour and 40 ft seas.
. We the spent 3 sunny days in Bermuda.

Sorry. Just reread your post. Miami is at least another 1/2 hour. Not sure if they also have a park n fly.

We live about an hour and a half from St Augustine. Then from us to Port Everglades is at least another 3 hours. There are hotels in Daytona And Palm Coast. That would put you closer.
When we drive down, we park at park n fly in Lauderdale. Reasonable, safe to park, they shuttle you to and from the Port. Check it out.

Welcome home to Florida.
Enjoyed following you and the Zuiderdam. We are doing the 11 day Panama Canal in Nov.
I noticed your are from Winter Park. We are New Smyrna Beach. Our daughter owns the store Synergy on Park Avenue. Small world.

We are on the Zuiderdam out of Ft Lauderdale in Nov of this year. Looking for a hotel with a 2 bedroom/2 bath. We will be 1 couple and 2 single ladies - not related. Any suggestions? We will be driving down from Daytona Beach and willing to stay from Boynton Beach down to the Port. Hard to find a 2 bed suite. Thanks .

Are any of the labs on HAL geared to Apple products. I use my iPad when I travel and only have an iMac at home.

I checked the other day. Both my cell and home phone were on the list. I was able to file both since each had a different claim number. Be interesting to see what happens.

Are the musters held out on deck with life jackets?

Curious: what is the retreat on the Zuiederdm? IS there a charge to use it?

We take walkie talkies to communicate. Sometimes they work and sometimes not. Depends on the ship size and where you are. We use them at home also in the big box stores and the mall. DH refuses to carry a phone. He was phone company for 35 years pre retirement.
Just remember to bring their chargers if you take them along with you.

I agree with you. We live 4 hours north of Fl Lauderdale. We have always driven part w ay the day before and stayed overnight. Our usual spot is Boca Raton right off I 95. Then we are only 1/2 hour to the port. We usually use park n fly but this trip I will try park n go. They are considerably cheaper. Both are located just outside the port. No need to deal with the port traffic. And we once traveled with our travel agent and discovered he used this method also.
Safe travels.

Try Homewood Suites. We did this several years ago from San Fran to Lauderdale. It worked well for us.

With all due respect to g>ravel, milk (almond or otherwise) has not much, if anything to do with a gluten-free diet. Glutens are found in grains such as wheat, barley, and rye, etc. I am curious about this as well, as my wife needs gluten-free foods and we will be on the Zuiderdam next March.
I also have a milk allergy.

Hi all. We will be on the Zuiderdam in Nov for 11 days. 2 questions : When can I find out which dock in Ft Lauderdale the ship will be at?
And regarding food on board. I have to follow a gluten free diet due to an allergy. Any comments on how the ship does with this? And is non dairy milk (soy or almond) available on board?
