Following your review very closely- we're on Cruisetour beginning Aug-6. 

Wow - we too choose Celebrity in part because of the smoking/vaping policy. We're heading out early next month - if this is the new policy in place on the Millie, it will likely be our last cruise on Celebrity after 10+ years of loyalty.

Thanks so much for your excellent report - following this closely as our cruise docks in Vancouver....we're spending 2 days to explore the city. Also the Rocky Mountaineer has been on our list for some time. Absolutely enjoying your reports.

We were going to be 1 point short of hitting Zenith on a TP so added a land tour on the beginning.   Turned out due to the date line they gave us an extra days points anyway.

Do Captain's Club points accrue for the tour portion of an Alaskan cruise?

I know the OBC is $250 for cruises of 14 days plus. Does anyone know if this applies to Alaskan cruise tours of the same duration? Or only to the cruise portion of the trip? Many thanks!

Thanks for the post - we were able to cancel and rebook and saved $200-$300.

They didn’t adjust my excursions but I was able to cancel and rebook at the lower price.  If your excursions aren’t sold out, you should be able to do that.  Congrats on your first cruise!  I’ll be taking my first one in May 24’.  Doing the Dawes glacier too!

My question and I have not bothered to check it out is whether the cruise companies are telling customers about the road closure or do they let them find out when they get to Denali.  We all know based on some of the posts on CC that some people do not bother to do any research and they believe everything that the cruise companies or other travel related companies tell them.

Just under the for what it's worth section, I was given Paxlovid for Covid in late August. It definitely does come with a full set of serious side effects.....those side effects sent me to a lovely week long stay at the local hospital. It definitely needs to be prescribed by your family doctor, and even then, I'm proof that the side effects can still lay you low. Good luck!
