  1. I saw in your signature that you will be on the Emerald Princess. The library on that ship is quite small. Here are a few photos of the library on the Ruby Princess, a sister ship of the Emerald. As you can see, many of the shelves are empty.

Thanks for the photos. It is small! I'll add a trip to the library to my list of things to do as soon as I board. I've got a couple of books I might reread and then donate too.

  2. I'm a big reader and imagine I'll want to use the shipboard library frequently when on my 11 day cruise.

How does it work? Do you just help yourself or do you have to check books out and back in? What types of books does the library offer?

Hoping it's not all a Readers Digest Condensed and National Geographics!

  3. I will be cruising Princess for the first time early next year and have been thinking about how/what to scrapbook from the trip. My main question is, do Princess sell stickers or tape or anything 'Princessy' for scrapbooks? Things with their logo etc? Also, what kind of things do people collect from their cruise to scrapbook with? Princess Patters for sure, but are there other souvenir-type scrapbookable materials? Finally, if anyone has examples of cruise scrapbook pages they're willing to share, I'd love to see them for inspiration!

    Thanks in advance!

  4. This is why I bring a couple of zip lock containers. I get the kind with a screw on lid. Works for those chocolate covered strawberries too.

That makes me think of another kinda related question...

Say I've been on shore for the day and come back on board mid-afternoon knackered. Is it good/bad etiquette to grap a couple of things from the International Cafe on the way past to take back to my room and pop in a container in the fridge. Have a nap and then nibble when I'm ready? Or is it expected that things are eaten at the cafe? Is it okay to 'takeaway' I guess is what I'm asking.

  5. Please note that when the door is closed, it goes a couple of inches into the fridge, so what looks like plenty of room inside actually has a little less room than it appears.

Thanks for the photo (Keith too). It does look tiny!

  6. Hiya,

Can anyone please tell me the rough size of the inside of a stateroom fridge? Emerald Princess in particular but I guess they're all the same.

How many bottles or cans of what size can you fit in at a time? What would be the largest size of water bottle that would fit for example.

Also, do they have a minibar, and if you don't want it, can you ask the steward to remove it?

    Thanks in advance!
