  1. The ship appears to have sailed this morning (October 9, 2019). It's currently just outside of Vancouver Harbor, heading south at about 15 kn. Its listed destination is Acapulco, which I'm guessing is a fuel stop.

  2. According to news report today (Sept 30), including one at Forbes.com, there must have been some kind of media event today onboard the ship in Vancouver (where it is still docked).

We were booked on two back-to-back segments starting with the Oct 10 departure from Costa Rica, which has been cancelled. We booked through a third party, and they were notified of the cancellation by Hurtigruten on Friday and called me on Saturday. However, it seems from the posts above that other people knew a few days earlier.

We have been told that the second segment is still a go and we can meet the ship in Valparaiso, Chile on Oct 27 to go to Antarctica. However, I'm not holding my breath that it will actually happen!

  3. Is anyone taking the trip that departs from Costa Rica in October? I booked through Vantage Travel, so my dates may be a bit different, but I have us boarding in Puntarenas, Costa Rica on October 10, 2019. We're taking three back-to-back segments that end in Punta Arenas, Chile on November 12, 2019. Anyone on some or all of that trip on the Roald Amundsen? I haven't been able to find a roll call for any Hurtigruten cruise. Thanks.
