  1. Was on Bamboo beach this past Jan. Basic facilities , a bar , restroom, shower (outdoor , not private ) . There was no sand , just a mix of shell , coral & rock . Went on an RCI tour . Wouldn’t go back .

  2. We walked off the ship , thru the gate into town . We were going to hire a taxi to take us to Lake Gotomeir to see the flamingos . At the taxi stand they were selling 2 1/2 hr tours to go there for 25.00 pp . We hopped on a very nice small tour bus & had a great tour . Plenty of time left to shop after !

    Enjoy !

  3. I've never been questioned about my CPAP when flying or cruising anywhere in the world. I never check it, but keep it with me.

My husband & I both use CPAP . We have been questioned in an airport . TSA demanded we take them out of the case & have them scanned separately in those filthy tubs . We complied after lodging our displeasure . An older TSA agent came over to us after this ordeal & made a valuable suggestion . We now travel with them inside a large ziplock in their case .

  4. Just bought large ( couple gal ) ziplock bags & med size ( still ginormous) space bags to test out putting mine & DH down jackets . They're not easily wrinkled so can't speak to that . I will say the space bags are stiffer plastic, more difficult to roll to get the air out . After sitting & laying on space bags ( quite a show we'd put on in airport , lol ) I gave up . I'll stick w/ziplock .

  5. I am glad it worked out well for you, I think the cruise or an all inclusive is a great idea.

I tore my rotator cuff falling down stairs ( well the dog did push me) and I have been putting it off for a while, first I did PT then got really busy when it did not work out well enough it is a really small tear but still painful at times. Now I have crappy insurance ( from a very large employer) and cannot afford it. Another year or so and I should be OK.

So here is my question since there are so many people that replied to the thread and excuse me for asking but: "How do you wipe"? I have tried using my other hand and I know I am not that flexible (bad back and car accident) but for the most part it just does not work out. Is it me or is it somewhat common? I figure I will work on it leading up to the surgery.

You either get a PT to help you " train " the other arm to do it , go " thru " from the front ( I recommend flushable wet wipes ) , ask your significant other for help , or perhaps get

a bidet . Not an easy task , been there

  6. Well said , thank you . 12 of us are doing a cruise to celebrate my upcoming retirement ( and enjoy great family time ). I 've thought about doing shirts but some of these other folks comments have really dampened that idea . It's helpful to know there are still people who see the good fun for just that .

  7. I have never stayed there . However we vacation @ a resort up north that has a lot of sea grass . My now 8 yr old grand daughter loved the sea grass . She said it felt soft & squishy . She is a very adventurous & not afraid of getting into anything . I would be more concerned about the surf being gentle or rough .

  8. Okay I am having rotator cuff repair on 9/6 and will be out of work for a little bit. Follow up appointment is 9/21. So I decided what is a better way to recoup with a little get away.

Just booked a cruise for 5 days on the Majesty of the Sea.. think this will make me feel better and the price was really nice too..

Looks like you've made up your mind to go ! As another woman may I share some advice please ? Button up tops will be your friend , anything going over your head needs a lot of stretch as your surgery arm needs to not move . Teach your "caddie " to help fix your hair unless you do well 1 handed . As another person said , if it's your dominant arm , strengthen & start practicing doing personal care 1 handed . Wishing you best of results on your surgery & healing relaxing cruise !
