Hi there,
we are not sure if we should spend a day at the Ligurian beach in mid June, as a month ago there happened an oil spill desaster in Genoa. I can't find any further details.
Has anybody visited the Ligurian coast lately?
Thanks in advance!

Driving between lake Garda and Venice is no problem - we use a TomTom GPS and like detours (like visiting Verona), we usually head for the city center and then look for parking as we are close to the center. We made a day trip to Verona - nice. As there are less tourists and more space to breath in Italian atmosphere we like Padua or Modena. We did a two-day stay in Pauda, saw some of the big museums (the Padua card, was o great use), and like the botanical garden. And I am not sure why - but we totally liked Treviso (nothing all to special about it, rather small, easily walkable, students, never met many tourists).
Venice - we always had a great time.

There are all kind of accommodations close to the airport of Rome, besides hotels (two Hilton 4-star and other hotels), as well as B&B and apartments - here you can find them sorted by distance to the airport http://www.my10airporthotels.com/italy/leonardo-da-vinci-fiumicino-airport-airporthotel-rome/

I would try to get some at the airport. Rose wine is (as far as I remeber, but we usually go for tinto or blanco) is not that common in Spain.
