Which port in Dublin? Dun Laoighre or the city docks?

if it’s DL there’s the dart train that will bring you into the city far more cheaply and quickly, if it’s the city port it shouldn’t cost much at all and the driver will probably try to get you to pay cash (euros) even though they’re supposed to accept cards.

Thank you …the port is  Dun Laoighre

I remember my grandmother cruising twice a year from New York 60 years ago.  She gave elaborate, catered "bon voyage" parties for family and friends on board each time.  My brother, cousins and I used to check out the entire ship.  We had to scramble off the ship with the "all ashore" foghorn blast.  Well-wishers on the pier would then hold one end of paper streamers while passengers on the ship held the other.  The streamers would break and the foghorn would blast again as several tugboats nudged the ship out into the Hudson.

Yes ...those were the good old days!

  4. We stayed in a cabin under the kitchen area once ( another cruise line) ...never again !

We thought how noisy can it be in the middle of the night ....well we found out .

Kitchen preparing for the next day started at 3AM every night ....we heard clanging glassware , rolling carts , pots and pans banging . We didn’t have one good night of sleep the whole cruise .

  5. Sailing on the Jade in May .

We wanted a mini suite since it’s an 11 day cruise . Unfortunately mini suites are only available on deck 11 which has the pool , restaurants etc above on Deck 12 . We had a bad noise experience at night with a restaurant above us on a past cruise . So for this cruise we

picked a room that’s below the pool deck hoping that nights will be relatively quiet . Anyone have experience with a room below the pool deck ?

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Not quiet ....this is an extremely noisy cabin . The Coastal Kitchen is directly above and we were woken up every night to carts rolling and pans clanging that some nights continued for almost an hour . Most things in the kitchen are stainless steel and you hear every bang and clang . The rolling carts overhead were awful . Avoid this cabin and any cabin under the kitchen areas if you want a good nights sleep.

  7. I sailed on Breakaway and will never cruise on that ship again . The Common areas are very small and crowded and we did not like the layout at all . I’ve cruised on many ships and Breakaway was my least favorite . I sail Anthem in 2 weeks so no review there yet but I like what I’ve heard.

  8. I'm just wondering if there is a thread that has the current dining menu for the 7 night Bahamas, I've seen it on other threads for other ships but can't seem to see one for The Anthem. We have a set dining time of 5:30 . We are sailing March 17th and wanted to take a look at it , Thanks :D

We are also sailing the 17th with 5:30 MTD and would love to see menu.

Wonder if they’ll be serving corned beef and cabbage on the 17th ?

  9. Sure, you can have a table for 2. You may even be able to slip a sheet of paper between your table and the one next to it.

    Just kidding ... kinda...

Obviously not that close to each other, but they are crowded. Random internet picture to illustrate follows (believe it's from Independence of the Seas):

Ha ha I figured if there were tables for 2 they’d be close . No secret sharing for sure lol
