  1. It's been a few years since we've cruised on MSC.  You used to be able to pre-purchase wine packages (e.g., 3 bottles for a 7 night cruise) for the MDR.  I don't see any options for wine bottles available for our cruise.  I only see options for delivery to staterooms.  Do they no longer offer pre-paid wine bottle packages?

This would be for the Seascape out of Miami.

Remember though that unlike other ports, in Roatan, taxis don't wait around beach resorts or hotels for fares.  So you'll need to arrange with the driver to return and pick you up or, trust one of the resorts will call you a taxi when ready to come back.

If you take a taxi, is it common to ask to pay on the return trip?

  3. Thank you!

I was going to purchase a day pass through shoreexcursioneer.com, but was worried that we would have to stay the entire time.  We may end up staying the entire time, but who knows how we will feel.  There are children involved!

But, maybe, you  have to book directly with the resort to leave on your own time?

  4. We will be stopping in Roatan soon.  Our ship will dock in Coxen Hole.  There will be at least 5 of us, but possibly up to 9.  We just want to go to West Bay for the beach/snorkeling.  We don't want to do any other side trips.  We probably wouldn't even need much in terms of resort amenities, maybe just restrooms.  Should we book a private tour (or beach shuttle) with Rony's?  We may not want to stay for the full time with the beach shuttle.  Would a private tour make sense if we only want to go to the beach?  Would a taxi or arranging a day pass with a resort make more sense?  When you do a day pass with a resort, are there set times for departure and return to the ship like there would be with Rony's beach shuttle?

    I would appreciate any advice!

  5. Anyone have a good photo of the front of the ship?  It looks to me, from the photos I've seen, that there might be porthole windows on deck 9 for 9003.  I was trying to count decks from the bridge down to deck 9.  It looks like there might be an inaccessible balcony there.

  6. We are booked for an upcoming cruise on the Meraviglia.  We booked a family balcony and weren't assigned a cabin immediately.  I recently noticed that we were assigned 9003/9005.  When I look at the deck plan, it looks to me like 9003 is an oceanview stateroom.  On my reservation, it is listed as an oceanview stateroom.  Other web sites show 9003 as an ocean view stateroom.  However, MSC is claiming that 9003 is a balcony stateroom.

So, my question is, has anyone ever sailed in 9003 on the Meraviglia?  Is it oceanview or balcony?

We have any time in the Panorama I will check the times for the restaurants later.

    Thank you!

We are traveling in February 2020 with a mixed group (some Fantastica, Bella, and Aurea).

  8. Thank you for the menu photos!

Which MDR were you assigned to? I think you are Aurea, so maybe dining times don’t apply.  Do you know how many seatings they have for dinner in the MDR’s and the times?

some rooms have queen/2 twin, a sofa bed and a pullman bed totaling 5 passenger.  When searching online you will not find one.  But have your TA or you call MSC direct, they will be able to find one.

I have not found it difficult to find rooms that accommodate 5 on the MSC web site.  Sometimes, the family rooms (connecting staterooms) do not show up as available.  Whenever I have seen a family or super family show up on the website, it has been a guaranteed room.  We have found that the grand suites and the whirlpool suites  have shown up on the web site without any need to call.

I would look at the pricing on the grand suites and whirlpool suites.  We have found them to be comparable to the family rooms, but with better amenities.

  10. Do you have a cruise card from a cruise?  It has the status level and full name.  That's what I used for my children.

I just logged into the Disney site.  If you click on the Membership & Passes link, it will show your name and Castaway Club status.

I kept clicking on the promo to get to the fine print, but instead it took me on a tour and give me a code. I couldn't find the T&Cs anywhere...

It may have been elsewhere, but I know it was on the page that had the actual promo code (still have it on my phone).  There was a link at the bottom to the terms and conditions for the promo.  This was for the US site.

I don't know. This will be our first sailing with MSC. The 10% discount was applied to guests 1 and 2, before taxes, so it was only $100, instead of $170 I expected. Here is the email I received about the promotion (after I booked - lol):

PROMO TERMS AND CONDITIONS: 10% discount for new individual cruise bookings only excluding government fees and taxes (GFTS). Not valid for group bookings. Valid for all departures, excluding the MSC World Cruises, subject to availability. To get your discount, take the virtual tour, find the hidden hotspots and discover the promo code. Please take note of your code and use it to book your cruise through our website, our contact center or your travel agency. Discount is valid until April 21, 2019, and is only bookable on our website, through MSC Cruises Call Center or through your travel agent. Only one code can be used per booking/cabin and the discount is applicable only on the first and second passenger. The discount is combinable with the standard 5% MSC Voyagers Club discount only – not combinable with MSC Voyagers Club 5 + 5, 5 + 10 or 5 + 15 discounts. Offer combinable with the following promotions: 2 FOR 1, ALL IN DRINK + WIFI, ESCAPE TO SEA. MSC Cruises reserves the right to pass on any fuel surcharge without prior notice to all guests and refuse to honor any prices/sailings that are erroneously printed or quoted. For general bookings terms & conditions, inclusions, cancellation charges and other information, please refer to the MSC Cruises terms and conditions page. Offer subject to change. Promoted by MSC Cruises USA.

Those terms and conditions were available in the fine print on the promo page.  The promo (at least the virtual tour part) ended yesterday, but I guess you can redeem the code until April 21, 2019.

I wonder if it is combineable with the 10% military discount for balconies and above.

I was told that is combinable with the Voyager Club discount, but not the military discount.

Since Cruise Critic is only about 5% of cruisers it is hard to reach out in advance to fellow cruisers.   Other social media sites we can't mention have similar groups where you could ask.

I can relate.  My first several cruises there were priests on board.  In fact, on Celebrity they had an early Mass on a port day and the Priest gave us a " special dispensation" on  One hour fasting before communion.

Recently, there have been no Priest aboard. If we know we're going to be at sea on Sunday,  I take my rosary and print out the readings for that day's Mass in advance. Cruising with my mother we would find a quiet place and say some prayers together.

i love visiting churches in port.  But alas, not always syncing with Mass times.

Thank you for the advice!  As my backup, we plan to watch the Mass on thesundaymass.org.  Last year, we went to St. Frances Xavier in Nassau.  It was a wonderful experience.  I too, like to visit churches in different locations.

One way would be to find the Roll Call for this cruise.  [You haven't mentioned the name of the ship, so I can't give you a link.]

Another would be to search a website that lists partial-charter groups, such as:

    http://www.groupsahoy.com/search/any.php

Oops, I forgot to mention that we are on the Seaside!  I did ask on the roll call, though!

Thanks for the link.  I'll take a look.

Here is a recent thread on this topic:

Short answer: MSC does not provide a Priest.  If one is one board as a passenger, they will probably say Mass – but you won't know until you board.  See post #7 in the quoted thread for a detailed list of all cruise lines that provide a Priest.

I saw this thread and I am aware that MSC doesn't provide a priest for services.  I am wondering if anyone in this group is traveling with a priest on this specific cruise.  Or, how do you find out whether or not there is a group traveling with a priest during your cruise?

  16. I asked on the roll call for this cruise, but hoping for a wider audience here...

We are on the 2/2/2019 cruise and were wondering if anyone knows if there will be a priest onboard for a Catholic Mass.  Sunday is a sea day.  A few years ago, my parents' group traveled with a priest on the Divina and he said daily Mass.   Will Guest Services know if a priest will be available for Sunday Mass?

    Hi;)

how was cabin 10002 we are 5 booket in this cabin juli.

    do you have pichers😃

I did book 10002 for 5, but got bumped to an Aurea whirlpool suite.  If you look at the deck plans, it now says 10002 sleeps 3.  I don't know if this is true or not, but I would make sure they have the correct number of beds for your party before you sail.

I have seen pictures of 10002, but can't remember where.  It looked like it had 5 beds, but I'm not sure.
