Just taken this offer, already converted the fare into obc which is refundable and at $3500 (had a premium deluxe aft) well worth it as we will book a cruise when the refund comes in with a balcony

Premier inn Christchurch is about £90 for that date and a fairly quick train journey into Southampton

Lulworth cove and durdle door are beautiful on the Jurassic coast also Tyneham village is an evacuated village which still has the old school room set up and all of the empty shells of the houses and a lovely place to visit

booking.com has cheaper rooms than either premier inn or travelodge so would start there, London is a vibrant city with cheaper dining options as well as street food vendors (some of which are beyond fabulous). It is possible to find accommodation for about £450 for 5 nights (approx $582)

There are plenty of private hire cars near Southampton too, I can def recommend this one

Turkey has been removed from our Aug 2017 med cruise, as has Malta, and replaced with Kotor and Corfu

There are loads of private hire, private transfers and taxi's that will take you from London to Southampton, probably better to look at a south coast taxi or private hire company as they will be cheaper than any London cabs. Coaches and pre-purchased train tickets would be the cheaper options.

I only recently learned about this change from a post.
Hopefully it works well & by requiring prepayment that not many passengers will prepay & cancel. It doesn't state a cancellation policy but since it's prepaid by credit card it would need to be refunded the same way. One of the negatives of allowing prepayment is that when it's cancelled on the ship it's less likely to be rebooked. As I recall, RCCL had a 25% cancellation fee for cancelling specialty restaurants within 24 hours.
The room service supervisors said that it's extremely rare for all UBD times to be booked (two UBDs at about 6:00 & 8:00...4 per evening) so I'll continue to book onboard. I want to read the cruise summary in the Patter during embarkation to decide when we want to request the UBD. And I want to use OBC instead of cash by prepaying with my credit card. ;)
In terms of cancellation, it's 72 hours before cruise for a full refund, so by embarkation they will know how many they have already booked.
In terms of pre booking, for us it's our 1st cruise, we don't get OBC so having everything sorted before boarding is a plus, and certainly looking forward to UBD.

We have the same cabin booked next summer so look forward to seeing the answer, not that it would bother me too much!

Make study cards to take with you, dedicate a couple of hours a day to revise and also relax.....a break from studying is good to refresh you....post it notes with study notes around the cabin will also help with learning ....enjoy x

A train or private transfer would cost an awful lot more than the princess costs, train to London can cost £65 and transfer about £80....you have a great deal with the princess transfers

i can buy in blocks of £16.25 or £32.50 or £65.00.
But I must pay on my charge card before I know how many US dollars that I am buying and then I guess after paying for them I will only know the exchange rate
1.53 is a great exchange rate x
-
On my cruise personaliser it only allows you to buy in pounds sterling, so how do you know before hand what the exchange rate is??
Mklions
How much are the obc options in GBP in your personaliser??
-
...and indeed $50 and $100.
So it costs £17.50 for $25 and £35 for $50 and £70 for $100 in my personaliser which is better than current exchange rate
-
In my personaliser I can only buy the obc in £GBP so not sure from what date the exchange rate will kick in...if it's booking date that would be ok, if it's just before leaving that gives time for the recovery of the £GBP so fingers crossed for either of those x

Thankfully our were part of the free grats promotion for our summer cruise next year so can only hope the gbp recovers somewhat before I think about our next booking!
