He sure loved those boots.
It's very odd as I've seen the comments about the air con but didn't feel cold at all. I'm always cold at home & the coldest in work. I always have the heating on and have extra layers with me! but I was absolutely fine everywhere onboard in sleeveless tops. I tended to be at the bar or the high stools at the side never sat in the soft low seats. It was always around 8/9pm too so perhaps it had heated up by then. On my last night it was too warm in the live room, the casino manager was given a fan by one of the guests! He was on the case though and had requested they turn on the air con.

I arrived home from two weeks on the discovery yesterday. When I was leaving Glasgow - on a BA charter it said on the screens that max hand luggage was 12kg. Which would of been great if we had been informed and saved me lots of upset when trying to pack! In all the paperwork I had it said that the hand luggage allowance was 5kg. I ended up paying £20 the day before I was due to leave for an extra 5kg which I wouldn't have needed if I had known about the 12kg allowance. The £20 is neither here nor there but I could of done without the stresses of deciding which shoes and dresses to ditch.

I'm just back from a fortnight on the discovery. Lots of men in tux's and a few kilts. I'd say on average that most were smartly dressed every night. I always ate at the waiter service restaurants and spent every night in the live lounge so I'm not sure what the buffet was like in terms of dress.

It is great, modern and relaxed. I returned from two weeks on the discovery yesterday.

Haha indeed, I'm really not worried about my alcohol consumption on a two week holiday when for the last 10 years (since I was 22) I've had at the very most ten drinks a year. I've only started to have the odd drink again since Aug last year and that's been around 4 glasses of wine/cocktails per weekend. To be fair even if I have three drinks and a few soft drinks that would be £21 - not far off the package price.
I checked twice tonight now and both Thomson employees have said you can book for one on the cruise which is at odds with their stated policy online and the feedback on the forum. I may call again tomorrow and get this sent to me in an email!
They've also said we could book for our first week onboard then decide if we wanted to add the drinks package for week 2 on day 8 but if we book prior to departure we need to book for the full two weeks. It's all a bit fraustrating.

Thirsty until 10, I'll remember that now!

So I called Thomson again and they're now quoting 726 so 363 each per week/just under 26 per day. I think I'll just book it, its definitley worth it for one of us and if I have two cocktails, three glasses of wine and 2/3 soft drinks it will come to 28.

Im just about willing to pay it as it stands but don't want to pay anymore. I was just told on the phone that they will allow just one of us to book the package which may suit better as I won't drink as much. To do that we need to wait until we're onboard though. Do you know if thats correct? Just seems odd that you can't book for one in advance.
Thanks!

Looking for any insight into when its best to book the drinks package. I leave this week - Sat 25th June on the Discovery. The price is currently 800 for two for two weeks. Is it likely to increase onboard?
Thanks very much

They had a shuttle bus running, the drop off is around 5 mins walk to the Carrefour. The alcohol onboard was a good price although I didn't buy it. The shuttle ran all day I returned to the ship around half 8.
