  1. What are you laughing at??? Doing a hell of alot more than his predecessor in trying to secure our boarders and in Middle East. Just hope Cruiselines abide more closely to US Travel alerts..... Hate to say it but a cruise ship and activity around ports is a sitting duck for a possible terrorist act. Fortunately Middle east type terror hasn't reached the caribbean....but the recent bomb plantings on ferry's makes me wonder what could be next??

While the second half of your post is relevant, this is not the thread to get all political. Save it for another board.

    Just my 2 cents.

  2. Hi

Each adult (21) is allowed to bring one 750 ml. bottle. They also have wine packages. The Carnival site has information about the packages called "cruise the vineyards". Once onboard you can also ask in the dining room or the bars.

    hope this helps

Thanks! So I just put the bottle in my carryon?

  3. The only problem is with the ferries, nothing else.

Those excursions that use the ferries are looong treks anyway and I'd much prefer to spend my time relaxing and doing something than sitting on a bus(after the ferry ride)

I agree with this. We did a tulum/beach/lunch excursion last year. Got sick on the ferry and then spent more time on the bus than at the sites. Tulum was amazing though... no regrets there. However, I don’t think I’ll take that long trek again.

  4. Quick questions:

I am interested in taking wine on my upcoming Carnival cruise.

How many bottles can I take aboard?

How do I go about doing that?

Does the ship have Rose’ onboard at the bars?

    Thanks in advance!

  5. We are going to be in the Cayman's for the first time with our 7 and 4 year olds. I was just wondering what the best excursion would be with young kids. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I was looking at Nativeway but was wondering if there were others.

We did stingray city last week. There were several small children on our tour and they got along very well. I think it is do able, but it's nerve wracking to have the Rays swim around you, and if you are holding another person, it could be even more stressful.

One other thing to consider with that excursion is that you will be on a boat a while headed out to the site. It's a bumpy ride and may not be suitable for everyone- I found myself a little seasick after a time.

  6. Hi! July 23rd cruiser here- bumped from an April sailing-

1.) What night is Lobster and free wine night? I'm on 5 day cruise in 2 weeks-

2.) Any update on CHOPS? Should we go? Heard the 'earlier on' cruisers weren't impressed -

Has it gotten any better? Thanks!

Just got off the July 4 sailing. Lobster tails were free in the MDR the next to last night. The last night was free wine and a seafood buffet in Windjammer. No lobster tails on buffet.

This was a great cruise. Very low key and relaxing. Pack more casual than you anticipate. No night is formal.

We did not eat at chops but others did and liked it. You can order a filet in the MDR for $17 if you're craving a steak.

  7. Thanks for the input! The ship has a streaming option and I got that. I am going to push for audio- (for any reason other than I don't want to change out of my beach wear). I guess I also will be test skypeing that morning!

  8. Hi all-

I am sailing on the Empress of the Seas Monday through Saturday! SO excited!

However, I have a job interview scheduled via Skype for Tuesday (at sea). I've bought the streaming internet package, and RC has assured me that I should have plenty of bandwidth to suffice.

My question to all of you out there is, should I just rely on the audio portion of skype or will video be reliable? Also, does it matter where I am on the ship to get the best connection or will my stateroom (deck 8) be ok for this? I would not normally go to such extremes but this is a great opportunity. Has anyone had success recently with this program at sea?

Thanks in advance for you supportive comments and answers.
