  1. So...like many I haven't cruised since pre-Covid.  Reading through some of the posts, it looks like we will muster differently now?  How exactly does that work - do we go to our station immediately upon boarding?

Also, do we still have to schedule anytime dining through the HubApp or was that only when there were stricter protocols?

I feel like a newbie all over again!  TIA!

  2. So started receiving credits / gift cards today.  Here’s the breakdown:

    Sail date:  6/2/20

    Canceled: 4/15/20 by Carnival

$1764 moved over to new booking (1 of the cruise fares) - 4/17 when I called my PVP

The 2nd person cruise rate, taxes and prepaid gratuities all credited back to my Amex and gift cards received for the portion I paid with them (to the exact amount) on 5/14.

Still waiting for Cheers purchase (Gift Cards) and Excursion purchases (Carnival MC)

  3. Hi Bookster!  We’ve done this itinerary twice and have done two of our favorite excursions to date.  The first in Barbados is the Harrison cave eco adventure tour.  We booked through carnival but only had 12 in our group with 3 guides.  It’s fairly physical and very dirty but we thought it was a lot of fun.  Our second favorite was in st kitts also through carnival doing the mini speedboat excursion with snorkeling at Shitten Bay - best snorkeling I’ve done and the speedboats were great!

We also went to Maho Bay in St Maarten this past year which had some pretty bad beach erosion with the recent hurricanes but still worth the visit.  Always amazed to see that people stand behind the engine exhaust.

    it is a full itinerary!

  4. I cant tell if Carnival really doesn’t know their passengers or if they’re trying to appeal to a different type of passenger. Poke and oysters with mignonette from the cruise line that once had meatloaf and fried chicken on their dining room menu. It doesn’t compute.

The items sound interesting though and I ever found myself on a Carnival ship with these offerings, I’d give them all a try.

I prefer these selections to the hamburger joint...I can get a hamburger anywhere - tuna poke is harder to come by.

  5. I think it may have to do with location. I put in a different address as my location, and got more offers. Still no Carnival.

Sent from my iPhone using Forums

These are on the aarp 'rewards for good' page (which you can get to from the main aarp page). You have to earn points by taking quizzes, etc. in order to redeem for these gift cards.

  6. We just recently got off the 13 day Pride Journeys cruise and bought Cheers! We never came close to hitting the limit, but still got our money's worth. We bought it because of the added extras. This was our daily (more or less) breakout (prices are with gratuity):

    1 large latte - 4.54

3 bottles of water - 4.31 (the water on the Pride tasted awful - first time I've had a problem with tap water on a Carnival ship)

    1 martini before dinner - 12.36

bottle of San Pellegrino with dinner - 5.18

2 glasses of wine with dinner - 22.43

    1 after dinner drink - 13.52

Total: $62.34 vs. the $57.44 we spent on Cheers per day

So even though we only had 4 alcoholic drinks, we still came out ahead.

  7. Unless I am misunderstanding your statement you are wrong. With the Cheers program you can not order more than one drink at a time even if you want to pay for them.

From the Carnival FAQ section on Cheers at https://help.carnival.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1106/~/cheers%21-beverage-program

Guests may purchase a round of drinks for themselves and friends. One drink will count towards the CHEERS! program and the remaining drinks will be charged to the guest's Sail and Sign account.

  8. Yes, we sat down and did it together but it never prompted an Authorization Form. I am not sure why though. So his parents card information is on file..Just no authorization form.

It should show up under the "Print General Forms" option under My Cruise Documents. On mine, it shows as the last page of the entire pdf document - along with that completed form, you will also need to bring the a copy of the front and back of the cardholder's ID (ie, driver's license) as well as a front and back copy of the actual credit card.

If you don't have it, I would call Carnival customer service and ask them to email you a copy of the form. The official name of it is "Letter of Authorization for Use of Credit Card by Third Party/Guest"

  9. On our upcoming 13day Journeys cruise they changed our itinerary from stopping at Colon, Panama to a partial transit of the Panama Canal - this caused the port fees to go WAY up...fortunately we booked prior to the change so only had to pay the original fees.

If we make any changes at all, we'll then get charged for the additional amount.
