Thanks for sharing.  We are on this cruise too and have our costumes ready to go.  We're looking forward to a great cruise and perhaps we'll see you at the sunset bar at sail away!   

We love to cruise and have 3 cruises booked for 2023 & 2024.  We also love Hawaii and have been to all the islands several times on their own.  In January we rented a condo in Maui with friends from Boston (who also love to cruise) and we all agreed 10 days wasn't long enough.  A Hawaiian cruise will give you a very small sample of Hawaii.  However, if you want to get the full Hawaiian experience, pick an island and rent a condo that overlooks the ocean for a week (or even longer).  You won't regret it.   

We will be in port that same day and very interested to know the answer to your question. I checked the Cruzan website and read it they are closed on Saturday and Sunday. Yet, the Celebrity Cruise Line website shows it's available as shore excursion. It can't be both. Hopefully someone can answer this question for us. FYI - Our plan is to go by taxi and then onto to the beach....

Perhaps you could look into the Wedge Door Stop Security Alarm device that's sold on Amazon as a back-up plan?

Driving from Sacramento to LA you are bound to be stuck is some traffic along the way. If you still decide to drive down, I would avoid ALL So. CA freeways M-F from 7 am to 10 am and again from 3 pm to 8pm, so you're not crawling along with those who commute to work.

We live in So. CA not far from Long Beach and it's a quick ride from the Long Beach port to LAX. Saturday traffic usually flows smoothly, so the ride shouldn't take you more than 30 minutes.

IMO LAX doesn't have enough TSA folks to handle all the travelers. So, we try to stay clear of it and choose either SNA or LGB airports when we can. Make sure you allow enough time (2 hrs) getting thru the TSA maze.
