We will be leaving for our first cruise and honeymoon in 10 DAYS! Super stoked! But, since it is our first cruise... does anyone have any packing suggestions or tips? We are going on a 7 night southern carribean cruise :) Any advice is greatly appreciated :D

Yes there is. We set up wifi calling on our phones before we left for the cruise and were able to call home. You may need to stay close to the bar area to get the best service. We had issues staying connected while lounging on the beach.

Perfect! Thank you :D

Trying to decide if I should buy some international minutes for my cruise trip to contact my family halfway through our trip and give them an update, or if the boat yard has wi-fi i may just save the money and not buy any international calling.
Thanks in advance!

Hi All!
This is my first cruise and we are stopping at 5 islands. We have 2 tours booked and 3 beach days. What kind of shoes should we pack? Just trying to get everything finalized before I start packing NEXT WEEK :D Thanks in advance!!!

You might even feel better knowing that the taxi fares are set by law and posted (even at the cruise port taxi pick-up area). They do a good job with the taxis and make the process quite painless :).
Hank
That is awesome! Thank you so much!

During our last visit to Barbados, my wife and I walked from the cruise port to the Boatyard (actually to the beach area at Lobster Alive which is just past the Boatyard) without any problem or concern for our safety.
Yes I would love to know how long it took you as well! :)

Getting a taxi to and from is easy. Taxis are waiting and there is a dispatcher. Just tell him where you want to go and he will direct you to a taxi
When you want to come back just walk up from the beach and taxis will be waiting
It's about $10/person each way
Thank you so much! This makes me feel much less nervous 😊

My fiance & I are coming to Barbados in early November on our first cruise for our honeymoon. I am just wondering if it is safe to walk from the cruise port to the Boatyard? We don't mind walking at all but want to know it's easy and safe! Thanks!

Hi All!
It looks like our ship is going to be the only ship in St Thomas on the day we arrive, unless I am reading it wrong. I checked on Vinow. Anyways! This is mine and my fiance's first cruise. We have decided to go to Coki Beach, assuming it isn't going to be super crowded since we may be the only ship. Is it easy to get a taxi once we get off the ship to take us there? If so, how much does it cost? Also, is it easy to get one to bring us back to the ship? How do we go about getting a taxi? Thanks in advance!

Since we are flying in on a Sunday (We land around 1:30pm I think) will it be super crazy?
-
Head to the taxi stand and there are numerous staff there to get you in and on your way. It's super easy. As stated before it's a flat rate. Have no worries about this.

Is it hard to get a taxi? Can we book one in advance?

Hello! We are flying into San Juan, Puerto Rick on 10/30. Should we book airport transportation from the airport to our cruise port through Carnival? It's $18 per person per way. Is there a better way to get to the cruise port? This is our first cruise so we have never had to worry about this. :) Thanks in advance!

Hi Guys!
I have been on a hunt for a new camera for my first ever cruise and honeymoon. On the Olympus outlet website they have the TG-860 ORANGE (RECONDITIONED) for $160. Is this a good price and a good camera? Would you purchase a reconditioned one or should I stay away? Any input and reviews would be great!
Thanks!

My fiance & I are debating on if we want to go to Maho Beach or kayak to Pinel Island for our stop in St Martin for our first cruise. We have never been to St Martin. I would love to experience the planes but I think Pinel Island/Kayaking sounds like a more fun day trip. What would you guys recommend?
Thanks!

Hi All! My fiance and I are taking our first cruise next month for our honeymoon. We are both really interested in snorkeling at all of the islands and are wondering if it would be better to rent while we are there or to go ahead and purchase our own to bring? If you recommend us bringing our own, can you give links or anything for good sets to purchase online?
Thanks so much!!

I highly recommend the Boatyard. Beautiful beach and for $20pp you get a chair, umbrella, drink and the boat ride out to swim with the turtles is INCLUDED. It's beautiful there. Your ride back to the ship is ALSO included!
Check out my full review of our day there. It has TONS of pictures. It's located HERE.
I read your WHOLE review and it was amazing! It has helped me out a ton!! We are so excited for our first cruise! Thank you so much!

Thanks everyone! I am even more excited now!

Hi Guys! My fiance & I will be going on our honeymoon with carnival cruise line over halloween. I read that Carnival does a costume night on Halloween. Are there a lot of adults that dress up for this or is it mostly kids? We would like to dress up if we aren't going to be alone! :)
Thanks in advance!

I would skip the train and do Thenford's "Grand Island Tour". The train excursion is fine but you really get more bang for your buck with a tour like Thenford's.
Just from reading reviews on both I kind of felt that way.... thanks! :)

Secret Harbor is a great beach for snorkeling, swimming, having lunch, a few drinks and relaxing! Does not get all that crowded. :)
It sounds awesome! Do you know how far it is from the cruise port? :)

Hi!
My soon to be husband and I will be coming to St Thomas on our first cruise and first time to St Thomas on October 31! (Honeymoon!) We are trying to plan for a beach day. My fiance is not too fond of crowds, however I have read great things about Magen's Bay. Do you think he would enjoy it there? What other beaches should we consider, and why? Would taking the ferry to St John be a good idea? We arrive at 7am and depart at 5pm.
Thanks in advance!

Hello! Stopping at St Kitts on November 4th. We are debating between the train tour through our cruise line or Thenford Grey. Which would you pick between the two? Also... if you vote Thenford Grey, which tour would you recommend?
Thanks in advance!

We will be stopping in Barbados November 2nd, and my fiance/then husband is not too fond of crowds. The Boatyard sounds pretty cool, and seems like a great price for what you get. Plus I read that you can bargain with the locals to go snorkel with the turtles and get it cheaper than booking a tour ahead of time. Is this true also?!
Anyway, just wondering if it's super crowded and if there is any room on the beach when it is crowded?
Thanks in advance!
Allianz Vs Nationwide...
in Cruise/Travel Insurance
Posted
Hello,
I am considering booking a cruise through Carnival for the end of May. I wanted to purchase trip insurance just in case something were to happen that we needed to cancel. We are both young with no health issues but you never know what could happen or what could come up financially. I have never purchased trip insurance before so I am kind of at a loss. I was looking at the basic plans for Alliaz and Nationwide... would this be good enough to cover us if something were to happen that we needed to cancel? I am only insuring for $1000 as our cruise would cost us right under 1k. Thank you all in advance. :)
