  1. Hi ladies and gents. As some of you will know we are sailing on Ventura in April/May. I have been seeing on some groups that people are saying that the ship is looking a bit run down.

Has anyone been on it recently? If so did you find it run down or are people just being picky? Thank you x

  2. I have my 'start of the cruise' dresses and my 'I've given up trying and these are much baggier' dresses for the end. ;) Spend all year trying to shed some weight and know I will put it all back on in just 2 weeks --- :D I'm only short, so every pound counts and shows :(

This year I will be running around after two toddlers so hope that I will keep the weight off. I am starting back on my diet next week. My youngest is only 2 weeks old so need the calories at the moment x

  3. Yes, any suit with tie will be acceptable.

I must admit that 4 formal nights is too much for me just because by the time the fourth night comes, all my dresses no longer fit well as I have eaten too much food!!.

My fourth is always a little stretchy just in casex

  4. Thank you. We plan to make the most of it as a cruise is definitely a treat for us. We have cruised before with RCI and loved it. However with two children in tow we are no longer able to afford it but we have been told that p&o offers fabulous kid activities x

  5. Please do not be afraid to ask questions on here. The majority of us on here would love to help you. I always try and help people if I can.

You just have to ignore the posts from people with their own agenda, who if anyone asks anything about pando, will jump on it and try and say x/y/z is so much better try them.

It amazes me sometimes how some threads go down a path in completely the opposite direction!!!

I hope among the replies you found the answers to your smart casual eveningwear.

Enjoy the formal evenings. To see the majority of people making the effort to dress up really lifts the atmosphere I think....and give me the excuse to well I do need another dress!!!!

I did get my answer and I have to say I have always found your answers very helpful.

I just don't understand how a simple question can go so far off track.

We will enjoy as we will make the most of the experience. X

  6. I was amused by how a simple question on *how* the dress code operates and *what* was suitable, almost immediately got responses about the pros and cons of the dress code.

I am afraid to ask any other questions!

  7. Thank you. I would wear jeans at home too but being a mum of two little ones I don't get the chance to dress up very often. I have even bought suits for the boys for the formal nights X

One of the suits is cream not dark but I am sure that will be OK. X

  8. Hi ladies and gents. We have booked a 14 night med cruise for next April/May n711.

I understand that there will be 4 formal nights that we are really looking forward too.

However my question is about the other 10 nights. Will any of the nights be themed? Do the men need to wear long sleeve shirts for the rest of the cruise? Also is there anything we should avoid? We are not taking jeans. Thank you x

  9. Hi all. We have booked our cruise, N711. We are all very excited and are already counting down to our holiday.

However I have a few questions that would love your help with. The first being alcohol. I drink wine and hubby drinks cider and as we have booked a superior deluxe balcony cabin we would like to be able to sit on the balcony and have a drink if we want. So my first question is how much can we take on? I am more looking at the cider.

Second question is when do we received the time that we can board the ship? As we are traveling with two small children I like to have a plan.

    Thank you so much.

  10. We have booked our 14 night Med cruise for the 30th April on Ventura. It is a strictly come dancing themed cruise.

I am guessing that we will have 4 formal nights as that is what we have had on other cruises.

Would I be right? Also we love dressing up for formal nights and just want to check that other people do dress up for formal nights as well. Thank you.

  11. Thank you so much Anne that is really helpful.

We are all booked in and really looking forward to it now.

We decided to treat ourselves and book a superior deluxe balcony cabin as it will give us a lot more room with the boys. My in laws have booked an outside cabin.

I just wish it was not so far away x

  12. Hi all. We are booked on Ventura N711. Which sails on the 30th April. It's ports are Alicante, Barcelona, Cannes, Florence/Pisa, Rome, Cartagena and Gibraltar.

My husband and I have been on a previous cruise but this cruise will be a first for my in laws (69 years old) and our kids (aged 2 and aged 10months). I would really like tips on how we could make the trip special for my in laws as they have only ever done camping holidays.

Also looking for the best things to do in the above ports.

    Thank you so much x
