  1. We are sailing in May 2017 on Carnival, celebrating hubby's 50th birthday. He is a water bug, loves fish, doesn't mind creatures swimming around him.

I am not a strong swimmer, have never been snorkeling, get creeped out when seaweed touches me, let alone a fish.

I am reviewing the excursions offered through Carnival (I have talked myself into doing a ship tour after reading all of the reasons why on here), and I can't decide between cave tubing and snorkeling.

I think perhaps he would enjoy snorkeling more, and I am afraid of being a big weenie and not getting out of the boat lol.

The one excursion that catches my eye on Carnival is the Shark, Rays, Barrier Reef Island one.

Thoughts? Would a weaker swimmer be ok on this excursion?

  2. We cruised at the beginning of June and my birthday is mid-June. I got a spa gift certificate (that came to the room AFTER I had spend the afternoon in the spa lol), the wine certificate, and something else that I can't remember off hand. I was very surprised, especially because we did not include that information as a "special" celebration since it wasn't actually my birthday.

  3. Hi all,

My apologies for the numerous questions in this one thread.

We will be celebrating DH's 50th birthday with this cruise. I want to book Chef's Table for him because he will get a real kick out of the behind the scenes stuff (and the food of course!). Do you think it is worth it to also book the Steakhouse for this cruise?

Also, how far in advance should I book the Chef's Table?

Can anyone tell me which nights will be elegant nights? (Is there someplace online I can find this information?) I think knowing that will be helpful for planning excursions and such.

What else can you think of that I can do to celebrate his birthday?

    Thanks!

  4. We just booked our second cruise and I want to make sure that I do everything correctly with our FTTF purchase. We cruised for the first time in June and had it, but I have a sneaky suspicion that we did something wrong lol.

When we got on the ship, which was about 12:30, our rooms were not ready. Or at least, they were behind the closed doors with the signs that said rooms wouldn't be ready until 1:30.

Also, currently our boarding time says 12:30 or something like that. Can we simply arrive early since we are FTTF?

What do I need to do with my luggage so it might get delivered earlier? Last time it arrived JUST before we had to get dressed for dinner.

    Thanks!
