    Originally Looking at June 2019 xploration southern route but now thinking Northern route we think better chance of seeing penguins . I know the 2 new ships haven't started sailing yet however now with 3 ships and 6 itineraries lots of choices. Looking for info how was xpedition and would you of preferred a smaller ship and which island were your favorites. Family really wants to see penguins so best itinerary for that is a must.

    Sailed on both.MSC still relatively unknown in US passenger mix lots of Europeans and South Americans less than half Americans. food Celebrity Is better. Perks as far as Suite perks MSC Yacht Club is like NCL the Haven private butler, concierge, pool ,bar, restaurant. kids 12 and under free on MSC cruises so more families both have drink packages yacht club and aurea have free drinks on MSC. ships are spotless both lines service goes to Celebrity except yacht club. Entertainment goes to MSC especially new ship partnered with cirque du Soilel price Definetly MSC I have 3 cruises booked on MSC yacht club on Divinia executive suite, grand suite on seaside, duplex suite on Meraviglia

    Getaway Haven - Courtyard Or Not?

    We love staying in the actual Haven but at the end of the month, we (my mom and I) are staying in an H9 (Spa Haven).

     

     

     

    When my dh and I sail in July on Escape, we will be "in" the Haven on Deck 17 and that is where we want to be, in the actual Haven.

     

     

     

    For those of you that have that wonderful, large balcony and spend most of your time on there instead of the actual Haven, are you paying the extra high prices just for the larger cabin/balcony? My dh and I (and my mom and I) enjoy spending our time in the Haven, breakfast, lunch and sometimes dinner.

     

    We usually hang around there during the day and venture out at night.

    Courtyard penthouse can not accommodate 4 people and the aft penthouse is roughly a 1000 or so less than 2 bedroom

    The 5 minute or so walk to back of ship no biggie and the large balcony is awesome

    Only stayed in aft penthouse family of 4 with 11 and 13 year old the private bed and bath for adults with the kids sharing small bath was great we had the bedroom near patio so we had access to balcony while sleeper sofa was open and kids asleep. Walk to courtyard not a problem and now hard to go back to not having at least a one bedroom suite

    Sailed. On Celebrity NCL RCCL MSC... Celebrity best food older crowd solstice class ships very nice. RCCL lots of activities specialty restaurants entertainment on oasis class awesome more families than Celebrity. NCL freestyle dining all inclusive lots of bars good entertainment better than celebrity but I prefer RCCL over NCL and the Haven is awesome but pricey. So how does MSC compare? On MSC you will find fellow cruisers from all over the world with Americans not the majority on the other cruise lines would bet 90% plus American. This is not a bad thing just different. Also lots of families on board.The ships are gorgeous and spotless entertainment is better tha Celebrity about the same as NCL lots of cirque type shows singing and dancing daytime entertainment about same as celebrity NCL and RCCL have better MSC has the yacht club their answer to the Haven we are trying in June then will be able to compare the two. The food is the one area where MSC is lacking however I've herd they have made vast improvement over the last couple years since I sailed with them I got 3 cruises booked with MSC June Divinia yacht club executive suite New Year's seaside in a grand suite YC was sold out summer 2018 meraviglia 12 night Iceland in a duplex suite YC already sold out finally price i.e. 2 bedroom grand suite new ship over New Years over 2000 less than a balcony on Allure
