  1. I don't believe I've seen this mentioned here if so, my apologies.

My TA advised me today that after Oct. 4th, changes to my booking including price adjustments for price drops or upgrades means the AI reservation will be adjusted meaning loss of prepaid gratuities.

I should mention it is a group booking so it may not effect everyone but it is something to be aware of. Screenshot_20230906_082909_Facebook.thumb.jpg.a02f84f1f7023d4a39dae354f08f5b71.jpg

I don't post often so I'll take this opportunity to thank everyone for posting super helpful experiences  trip reports and advice.

    Happy cruising everyone.

    On the FAQ page.  https://www.celebritycruises.com/ca/healthy-at-sea/faqs

It's posted on the Canadian site already. The policy itself is not updated yet but here's the FAQ update:

Awesome! Wonder why cruises out of Hawaii in May are not included re X covering onboard related medical COVID costs? No biggy for us, just curious. Thankyou so much for posting the info. KC Bailey & truedesigngirl.

It's rubbish. I had to pay for a booking in full as they couldn't get there acts together to have the FCC taken off a Celebrity cancelled booking and applied to our replacement Apex trip. I'm loosing the will to live with the FCC fiasco.

We had an FCC applied after final payment & so a refund was processed back to our credit card. Refund was processed inside a week too which was a total surprise.  Maybe pursue that FCC against your APEX trip & perhaps X will either issue another FCC or refund. Good luck.

  4. Hi.

We require testing for a cruise out of Honolulu, May 4th.  We are Canadians.

What online/at home kits are available to Canadians? Are there any we can buy here in Canada but use in Hawaii. Or, can we purchase any that are vailable in the U.S to U.S. folks?

At this point, we are hoping to book a test somewhere in the Waikiki area and are looking at the CVS options but want to have kits with us as a backup. If anyone has suggestions, we'd appreciate it.

    Thanks

  5. and here's the actual wording in the T&C's:

The Future Cruise Credit offered under the “Cruise with Confidence” program is available only to bookings for named guests for which cruise fare deposits have been paid. The CWC FCC may only be transferred one time, is non-refundable and may not be redeemed for cash. The CWC FCC’s value may be applied on or before April 30, 2022 only toward the cruise fare due on a new booking or to satisfy the remaining cruise fare balance due for an existing booking, with Celebrity Cruises, for a sailing scheduled to depart on or before September 30, 2022. If not used on or before April 30, 2022, the CWC FCC will automatically expire and have no value.

  6. This is sort of good news for us as we are looking at Sept. 22, 2022 Hawaii from Vancouver but it would appear though we have the 48hr before you sail option, we would have to use the credit by April 30th.  Am I misunderstanding this?  I looked at the smallprint and it does say sailing on or before September 30th.

Still waiting for refund for 4/11 Summit cruise. I still see the cruise listed in my Past Cruises.

For those who have received their refunds (or FCC’s) and have been made whole, have you found that your canceled cruise drops off this list? If so, it might be a way I can check that and then know my refund is forthcoming.

Mine dropped off day after I cancelled early March but I only received the refund this week.

Still waiting, cancelled March 9th and cancellation confirmation received then too for May 11th sailing.  Told yesterday FCC "created and will be e-mailed next week" refund supposedly will be "disbursed" Wednesday.

FYI - Refund received - transaction date was 21st May (Wednesday) and posting date is today, 22nd. No FCC as yet but that I can wait for😀

We cancelled on March 9 for Apex April 23 & May 3 cruises and have only received our port fees and taxes.  Still waiting--seems like a very long time to get any refunds and FCC. I will wait only 2 more weeks and then the phone calls will start again.

53 days now😱 Sent email to Celebrityonetouch & CelebrityEngagementCenter last week & got response today advising someone would reach out to me in 7 days😃 Other information in the email reassures me they are on it.  That's all I wanted, reassurance. I'm happy to wait.

CelebrityEngagementCenter advised me today refunds are being processed from 6 to 9 weeks from cancellation.  Response was personalised and apologetic.

I'll hit the 9 week mark this upcoming week so I'll have my TA follow up directly with X at that time.

For what it's worth, I am in the same situation.  Cancelled 9th March & get a different timeline as each timeline comes & goes.  I'm at 50 days now and I'm not sure I'll wait beyond 60 days before I go the credit card route as I totally expect to be told 90 days next time.

Our cruise was cancelled... was scheduled to leave 4/24/20. Cancelled with Celebrity's forms via email in mid March. Have emailed many times,  called 3 times have been told: 30 days, 30-60 days and last week was told 30-60 business days. No one can ever give me any exact information or exact dollar amounts.  Should I go the credit card company route & dispute charges. We have been using celebrity for so many years and I had so much confidence in them. I know it’s extenuating circumstances but the tune changes every time I talk to them. And I’m concerned I’m not gonna get my money back. Suggestions?

I thought the general rule was that if you book through a TA, then Celebrity wants you to deal through the TA and not directly with Celebrity. Ask your TA, let them work it out...

Hi yes, outside of this extraordinary time, usually if you book with a TA then you would need to work only with your TA.  I can't find where I had the information (I also remember the information being posted somewhere on CC awhile ago) but there appears to be an agreement in place given the situation that X will provide information around FCC/Refunds as a result of cancellations due to the temporary ceasing of operations to clients directly.

    Still Waiting....

Cancelled March 12th and have received nothing in the form of refunds.

Cancelled another two cruises March 27th and have received nothing in the form of refunds.

    Frustrated!!!

March 9th for me for a May 11th cruise, still nothing, no FCC or refund, no reply to tweet or email to Celebrity, just an email this last week from TA saying X has indicated it's now an expected 60 days from cancelling.

Thanks! I am now at 33 days waiting for a 50% refund & 50% FCC for a May 11th cruise cancelled March 9th.  I've just sent an email to the address & yesterday tweeted CelebrityCruise.  I plan to wait a few more days before filing a dispute with my CC depending if/what responses I get.  I'll report back.

No response to email or tweet to X but it has only been a few days, however my TA got back to me within a few hours of my email to her.  Celebrity's response to her was that they are still working on finalizing the refunds/future cruise credits for the May 11, 2020 sailing.  They advised that it could be up to 60 days from the date of cancellation before passengers receive refunds or future cruise credits.

We are still waiting for a partial refund due from Silhouette sailing of March 6th-15th. which I thought would be initiated by Celebrity on March 7th.

However I reached out to Celebrity again since it is now over a month.  For those seeking an email connection, I received a response:

    email: CelebrityEngagementCenter@celebrity.com

"Thank you for contacting Celebrity Cruises in regard to your refund.

We apologize for the delay in receiving your refund. We are working diligently to process your refund at this time. As we have an unusually high amount of refunds that we are processing, please allow 4-6 weeks to receive your refund. Although we are unable to expedite this process, we assure you that the refund is forth coming and will be processed as expeditiously as possible.

In looking at your reservation , I can confirm the accounting department is working on a refund

..we appreciate your patience during these unprecedented times. If you have further questions or concerns, please call us at 844-418-6824. "

    I hope this helps...

The large online TA that many of you are talking about that charges a $50 pp cancellation fee.  Are they charging the fee if you cancel with CWC or if Celebrity cancelled on you?   I used them on over a dozen cruises but got put off over a couple of issues a few years ago.

Yes, CWC but I received a "goodwill voucher" to be used on or before Dec 31, 2021 for each fee charged.

  18. Thanks to all who posted, I rang my TA.

Equinox, 2nd Feb 7 nights, 2nd leg of a B2B & past final booking.  Booked refundable fare, Cat 2B with 4 perks & additional generous OBC from TA around 7 months ago under one of the TAs big sales.

Soon as Veterans Sale appeared, checked online for a Cat. 1B (want to move to same cabin we have on the prior cruise) but $1,000 more than we paid.  Seeing this & other threads, checked again next day with TA, she sees $600 more but acknowledged IT issues at X. She put the cabin on hold.

Next day, TA called, she sees now that the 2B cabin we have is couple hundred LESS than the 1B. Although past final payment, she had called X who asked if we would change to NRD & then X would comp the upgrade😁.   So, we end up happy, no change to perks or TA OBC & now in the same cabin for both cruises.

From either the B or C gates you will take the transit back to the main building. When you take the escalator or lift up from the transit follow the purple signs to Flight Connections. DO NOT FOLLOW THE SIGNS FOR BORDER CONTROL there is no need to clear immigration or customs for an LHR transfer. You will see a Fast Track lane for conformance and will then go upstairs to clear security. Then from security walk towards Harrods and keep going. You will see a manned podium at the very end of the floor, this is the entrance to the Concorde Room (there's a photo above). You will need your SEA-LHR boarding pass (as well as that for LHR-AUH) to access the Concorde Room because a Club World boarding pass will not grant you access.

If your flight goes from the B or C gates leave the other exit from the Concorde Room (past the luggage valet desk) and take the escalators down a flight, you'll then see the escalators/lifts going down to the transit on your right hand side. Everything is well signposted. It is possible that your flight could go from a remote stand in which case you could be taking a bus from gate A10.

With 5hrs you might want to consider booking a cabana or massage, the latter can be done a month out through YouFirst (your booking will give you details for them). You could also walk across the way from the back of the Concorde Room to the Galleries First lounge. In the Concorde Room everything is waiter service, whereas the Galleries First is a bit more self service. It's a much larger lounge and roving waiters can bring you food from the menus (these are generally hidden away at the podium near the Refectory). The GF lounge is on the end of the terminal and has excellent views of the southern runway, particularly from the open terrace area, whereas the view from the Concorde Room is a bit more restrictive.

Fabulous clarification fbgd, thanks.  I had tied myself in knots looking at the airport layouts on various apps and web pages but once I read through your post, the light bulb came on!  Also appreciate the mention of the cabana or massage, I had forgotten about those options. Cheers and have a super week.

  20. Great thread of info.  Can someone please advise me as to ease of getting to/from the Concord lounge if I have to connect at A or C  gates (I've been tracking the flights for a month or so & these are the gates usually noted).

Itinerary is SEA-LHR-AUH on BA.  First Class SEA-LHR then a 5hr connection  Club World to Abu Dhabi. Both flights use T5.

Would I need to go airside and so clear customs to get to the Concord lounge? If so what route or processes would be involved to get back through security etc to A or C gates?

I'd appreciate any feedback or advice. Thanks.
