  1. Cruise is Sunday on the Breakaway. Have multiple bids in on haven rooms. Still listed as pending and able to "review my bid". But the cruise is removed entirely from the website.

Safe to assume the cruise is full and these bids are pointless since no rooms available?

I've read that if you see pending, it means you won and will be notified soon!

  2. I've been watching the Haven prices on my BA cruise in a little over 2 weeks. They haven't budged and they haven't sold any either. I'm keeping my bids in. For the sailing a week prior the Haven prices are $1000.00 less. I think that would get me to pull the trigger and just book outright, although now they are making Haven guests pay the service charge on the promos, so I would have to factor that in.

Yes the services charges are a whole additional factor. What do they cover, is there tipping you're not coming out of pocket for once you're on board? I paid them and I'm confused as to what they're for.

  3. After combing through tons of threads on the bidding for an upgrade topic....We decided to pull the trigger and just pay the difference in fare to upgrade from a mini suite to an H4 on the Breakaway. We stayed in an H4 on the old upsell system last year on the Breakaway and loved it. We did have a bid in between the good to excellent range, and with today's slight price drop for the Haven, coupled with the extras you get by booking the Haven not on a bid... we went ahead and pulled the offer and just paid the fare to upgrade. Once the price drop hit, rooms started to disappear from the H4 category and we figured we'd never win a bid. Now I wonder if I made the right choice. Hate spending more when I can save...but in the long run, I'm thrilled with the category, and I don't have to stalk my email to see if we won a bid.

  4. Don't pay attention to "Sold Out" per NCL. We sailed on 05/21 and the whole cruise was taken off their website which indicated that it was completely sold out, funny we received our upgrade from mini suite to 2bedroom haven three weeks prior to sailing.

That definitely gives me hope! I bid on the 2BR Haven and first there were 10 rooms, then 5, then 3.....now 5 again. I'm going to drive myself mad with checking, so after reading your post I'm done. Hopefully I will get one, and would love to find out 3 weeks out rather than a few days before. Makes packing easier! [emoji51] Thanks for the reply!

  5. Sorry to co nfuse the issue , we bid on what is showing as a sold out cabin, we have not won anything yet , there are still 16 days to our sailing. If it suddenly is not occupied by the original people , I am sure NCL will not let it go unoccupied . There is only 1 class that we can upgrade to.

  6. Anyone won a bid to Haven even NCL site said all Haven were sold out? My cruise is 83 days out, there were 7 haven suites that can accommodate 4 guests last week, and all of a sudden they are all gone now. =(

I asked the same question on a couple of other threads, no answers as of yet. My sailing is 50ish days out and there are only 3 rooms left in the Haven category I bid on, so I'm curious as well as to what will happen if they "sell out"

  7. I was originally asking if anyone had won a bid in the Haven, that after they bid, says sold out online. I agree w cksv that maybe the reservation system and the upgrade advantage system aren't connected. It's a possibility. I was asking because when you call the upsell department, at least the rude employee that answered when I called, said sold out means sold out and there will be no bids awarded to anyone. Yet, on another thread someone posted that what they bid on was sold out, but then won. Very strange.

  8. Has anyone bid on a Haven upgrade, to later see that category displayed as "sold out" if you were to go in to book a new reservation online...and later received a confirmation that your bid was accepted? I'm about 60ish days out from my sailing, placed a bid on a Haven a couple of weeks ago..and there are only a couple of rooms showing availability online as of now...

  9. To the question about price, I'm not sure how to directly respond under the question, I apologize, but we paid $1,500 for each adult in the 2 bedroom villa. Kids there was no up sell charge. I think it was high because there were only 1 or two rooms left in the Haven on my sailing, at least that's how I understood the pricing when they told me. There weren't any available that could sleep 4 guests besides the category I was able to get. Seems steep, but still less than booking there from the beginning. I have to be honest, we LOVE Disney Cruise Line, and have cruised concierge level with them, but the prices for a week long cruise for a family of 4 are getting pretty high. I feel like this is a lot more cruise for less money. First time like I said so we have an open mind.

Thanks df5250 and TYSONBOXER for welcome and that info, so helpful! Anyone's kids use the kids club? My kids keep asking me but I can't find much info. We are super excited!!!

  10. Hi everyone! I'm new here so I hope I'm posting in the right place. Apologies if not. We are new to NCL. Have cruised Disney Dream and Fantasy several times with my DH, DS11, and DD8. We are cruising the Breakaway on 8/14 to Bermuda...and had booked a mid ship mini suite, and just did an up sell to the Haven 2BR family villa! :D:D I have a few questions hoping to get help with. When we booked we were able to choose 2 amenities. We picked UBP and DP which allows us 3 nights of upgraded dining. I know the original package stays in place on an up sell, so we will not get every benefit of the Haven. My question is what's included? I saw in photos what is in the rooms like waters, soft drinks, coffee machine, etc? I'm assuming those are an extra charge. In addition, are sodas included in the UBP for my husband and I at the bars and restaurants? I did purchase the soda package for both of my children. Also I am aware that the gratuities do not include the concierge and butler. What is typical gratuity for these? I want to be sure to tip accordingly. Lastly, the kids club for my 11 and 8 year olds. Can anyone tell me how security works and what there is for them to do in the clubs for their ages? Nervous mommy, lol. Also, if there are phones or something to let us know if they'd like to leave the kids area. We are really looking forward to experiencing Norweigan and super excited to stay in the Haven. Any advice or tips for a new family are greatly appreciated!! Thank you so much!!!
