We were scheduled to be on last leg of world cruise Rome to Miami in order to join my sister and brother in law who were on currently on WC . As I was expecting that segment was cancelled as thankfully ship will not transit the Suez Canal.

We received  notice that we could choose one of the new segments of WC at 30 percent discount .We chose the Lisbon to NYC as is shorter than the other options as I still work .Well the quote for new route which only has stops in Azores Bermuda NYc is 10 k higher than our original segment and does not include air . Original segment Rome to Miami had multiple stops in Med. I’m really surprised at the “ discount “ Plus still no refund from the cancelled  We love regent and are just a few days from platinum . Hate to cut off my nose to spite my face but I feel like cancelling next 2 cruises we have with them

We are also on Mariner in November 25, and Regent rep, though not giving a specific date, said that both Grandeur and Mariner will have Starlink before the end of 2023. So I would say it is likely though not guaranteed that will be able to use Starlink on Mariner in November. Which sailing are you on bookbabe?

No joke! That is the first place we stop as we head into town….after a Grand or WC we are d raving good TexMex. The Mexican buffets made by Asian cooks are a source of amusement rather than taste.

Same here about first stop after a Regent cruise. However, we’ve often overheard others saying they like the Tex Mex buffet 😂

    Further explanation is necessary.
I checked with the Destinations Manager regarding this tour on St. Barts. It was a catamaran boat.  No problem getting on. I have done them many times. Five steps. I can do that. I do not swim or snorkel. Just relax in the boat until we get off. Then back to the tender. That’s why she thought it would be fine. The semi submarine has 10 steep steps. Not good for me to get off.
I do check everything out carefully. Two reasons..to make sure I can handle it and to avoid interfering with other guests.
    any questions…just ask.

If I recall in a past post you mentioned you are on O2 via nasal cannula  .Could that have been the reason the sailboat captain refused to let you board ?

  5. Rick&Ron, Bellagio, and Sharon, My husband Gustavo and I are cruising on Regents for the 1st time and will be joining you all in Lisboa! We arrive Wednesday AM and are staying at the Corinthian. I have cruised 3 other times - Gustavo only twice on Celebrity. We are so excited to do the transatlantic on Explorer. This is Gustavo's birthday celebration - he will turn 60 onboard! See you at the hotel. Tedi & Gustavo

Tedi, Look for us on the cruise. You can spot us wearing our Aggie t shirts. I see you are from Austin. We live in Boerne. We leave in am and arrive Lisbon Tuesday. Please join our roll call. Lisa , Rod and Mom Mom Wanda.

  6. We usually do not go to the shows ; instead we watch movies in our room every night . Sometimes we watch 2 in one night with popcorn from the butler. We were on the Explorer a few months ago and just like on the other Regent ships we found a nice selection of recent releases , classics and Academy Award winning films including comedy , drama and sci fi, etc. A few years ago they had Downton Abbey available.

  7. On longer cruisers (even some 10 night cruises) getting a second or even third reservation in specialty restaurants was easy. With the new "class" program, it will be less easy.

Now that explains why we were not able to get a second specialty reservation on our last cruise earlier this year. We have always been able to get an extra reservation on all previous cruises 10 nights and over . However, we we not that bothered over it as CR is so much better than it used to be. But am hoping on our upcoming TA we can get a second res in the Asian restaurant.

  8. Yes - they have a traditional Thanksgiving dinner on the menu. If Thanksgiving is a sea day, they also do a parade that ends with Santa Claus coming down the stairs (or going up the stairs). It is a funny parade that makes a lot of people smile. Pretty sure that the parade it is done on all of the ships but don't remember much about it last Thanksgiving when we were on Explorer -- just remember the dinner. This year we'll be on the Mariner on Thanksgiving -- really looking forward to it.

you should have given a spoiler alert about the parade for those of us on this sailing JK
