  1. I know our favourite ship the Independence has been used on a naked charter before, we have fun on her walking around the decks wondering what went on here or there! Only wish we could have a nude charter leaving a UK port. Not interested in flying. Always find when we are in the company of naked strangers, whether it be on the beach or club they are always a lot more friendly. We always have a balcony when cruising and I will invariably indulge in nude sunbathing out there when at sea.

  2. Are there any ships that have private top decks where someone can sunbath in the buff? I was on Costa and they offered this with a surcharge but is that option offered on any others.

I have been to some Greek beaches.

I note you have been on the I.O.T.S did you not try St. Tropez, reached from a small flight of stairs on the pool deck. It is meant for topless bathing. However, on a few occasions when my wife and I visit this location there have been several people ( couples mainly ) completely naked. Nobody as far as we are aware have had a problem with it. In fact the drinks waiters come round regularly to sell their ware and aren't phased. When there has been more than just one person or a couple we will be often tempted to join them. With a visit to the Canary Island on your itinerary I hope you took full advantage of the wonderful naturist beaches available there.

  3. Looking thru this thread I noticed that the Independence of the Seas has been used in the past for a LS cruise. As a regular cruiser on this ship from the UK since 2008 I am curious to know where these large play rooms would be situated. Pyramid Lounge, Gymnasium or maybe the Disco. Would be interested to hear results.

  4. Only wish we had a nude cruise that set out from the UK. The last one that ever came to the UK stopped in Liverpool. There was an outcry from the locals, because not all the passengers adhered to the rule of covering up on board when in port. A little old lady that was in a nearby tower block, with binoculars, also complained. Probably because she could only see the top halves.

  5. Hi guys,

Will be on the Independence of the Seas next year 2018 to the Canary Islands. Taking in our favourite beach Maspolomas in Gran Canaria for the day. Fabulous naturist beach, golden sands and plenty of fun!

  6. I absolutely loved DD on Anthem and that's why I have it booked again for next year. It was my belief that if people wanted a traditional dining experience, they should book a different ship. Anthem was different for a reason - to attract a different type of passenger. It's a shame it's going away. I wonder what else they're going to change about that ship. I'm not sure what to do with my current booking.

The same option we had when we first booked Anthem way back . Not knowing at the time that in fact DD was the only complimentary option, other than Windjammer when booking on an exclusive crown & anchor time slot. Lump It! Or loose your deposit and be charged a further cancellation fee. And to rub salt into our wounds they told all us c/a customers there would be no on board credit or any form of incentives. Within weeks they were giving everything away to any Tom, Dick or Harry. Because their normal clientele weren't booking.

  7. The balconies are private enough to do this, but if neighbors want to try and look, they simply have to peek around the divider.

I have never had over-inquisitive neighbors, but would certainly certainly discourage them if I did.

Not much is said on the boards about this but I think that many people do this from time to time.:p

We always have a balcony when cruising for this precise reason. We obviously choose ones that we know to be relatively private. Ones that are not overlooked from above, or viewed from the captains bridge. Most importantly ones that attract a lot of sunshine, although this can be hit and miss.

We have not knowingly had neighbours peek round the corner when naked , but I do nod off a lot. Consequently, the couple that were in the balcony next door to us, on our last cruise, possibly had . We had from the onset of the cruise started small talk with them, from time to time when leaning over the rails while entering or leaving ports, as you do. It was during one of these chats, early on, that it was hinted that they may have seen us "relaxing". Fearing the worse, we were surprised with their further comments. They said they had considered sunbathing naked on their balcony before but thought it might not be allowed. At worst, if found out they might be turfed off at the next port. We said we had been doing it now for a number of years with no hassle. Go ahead we said. Also suggesting that if they were in agreement, to ask the steward to unlock the dividing panel between our balconies to increase the space. This was duly arranged. A most memorable cruise.

  8. Have they done away with topless sunbathing on Celebrity? There used to be a sign and even a notation in the Daily Planner allowing it on the top deck. Also, any topless sunbathing on RCI?

Certainly, RCI allows it on the Independence of the Seas. Mainly on the deck called St. Tropez, reached by a small flight of stairs from the main sun deck. Mostly topless, but on our last cruise on her (to the Med) when we settled down there, we noticed two couples were totally nude. So we followed suit. No complaints from anybody all the time we were there. But no way did any of us couples flaunt our bodies.

My only gripe with RCI, regarding nakedness, is that they have separate naked spas for male and female, usually sited near the gym, but none just for couples. My wife and I visit several spas when on land and always manage to find ones that allow mixed bathing.

  9. As a lifelong naturist who also loves cruising I really fancy a Bare Necessities cruise. What about going solo? I am not looking for romance, I am happily married but I now cruise solo when textile as my husband doesn't like cruises and my daughter is now about to go off to university. We have our final cruise together on the Oriana booked after her A levels.

Yes, would love to cruise naked,as I too am a lifelong naturist and cruise regularly with my wife, who doesn't share my naturist passion unfortunately. She is happy for me to practise naturism and I will sunbath naked whenever possible on our balcony when cruising. We will also visit clothing optional beaches when we visit different parts of the world, but she stays covered. What a pity you and I couldn't book a naked cruise together to share our dream. We have just come back from the Med cruising on the Independence of the Seas, so know Southampton well.
