  1. Hello all, we have a Northern Europe cruise leaving out of Southampton next March. One of our party is not vaccinated. Our plans are to arrive in London 2 days prior to embarkation, and the new guidelines state to test within 48 hours. I tried to get clarification from MSC on which tests would be approved, as the US site states no self tests accepted, and the UK site states self tests accepted only with certificate. However, the rep at MSC could not give me a straightforward answer. Do any unvaccinated US passengers have experience with what tests they will accept for boarding? Flight leaves for London 3 days prior to embarkation.

Depends on when and how you booked the cruise (solo or double with a no show). If you were booked as a solo prior to the cut off date for the double points promo, then it would be 6 points per night (24 total). If you booked after the cut off date, it would be 3 points per night (12 total). When Dorian hit, we were on a B2B on Harmony in a JS, and our first leg ended up being 11 nights, and our second leg ended up being three. We received 22 points for the first leg (all 11 nights were counted) and 14 for the second leg (they counted it as a 7 night cruise even though it was only three days.)

I booked in the first week of August as a solo. Didn't know they did points promos, when did that end?

    thanks everyone 🙂

  3. Just got of Mariner on Monday, was in a suite as a solo traveler. Are the loyalty points supposed to be triple in this case? My past cruises only has me as double points for this one.

This trip was supposed to leave on Sept 29th, but due to hurricane Ian, we ended up sailing on Oct 1st. However RC did state we would all be getting the normal amount of points as if the trip was still a 4 night instead of 2 night.

Just curious if I need to call and have them correct my account.

  4. Any of you that have been on the Blue lagoon deluxe beach break (specifically through RCCL) can you tell me exactly what is included? I am trying to figure out if beach chairs are an extra cost to rent on top of the excursion price. Alternatively, it looks like the stingray encounter and beach break is much cheaper than just the beach break itself. So, same question... If I book a stingray encounter and just use the beach instead to save money, are chairs included in that ticket price? If not, how much to rent a chair and umbrella?

It seems like the descriptions on RCCL excursion pages are quite vague in my opinion. I like to know exactly what to expect so I don't end up spending more than I budgeted for the port day. Thanks to anyone who can clarify for me 🙃

We did this excursion while on the Disney Dream back in May.  Loved it. The beach was very nice, calm blue water and the lunch was good.  There are opportunities to part with more money, chair and float rentals and a kids play area in the water.   We enjoyed it and would do it again.

By "chair and float rentals", do you meant that beach lounge chairs are not included in the excursion price? If so, how much to rent a chair? Just curious. I am having the hardest time trying to find out what exactly is included and what I will need to shell out for once we get there. The description on the RCCL website is quite vague.

  6. 3rd cruise, 1st junior suite. Looking at the deck plans on Mariner of the Seas, cabin 9328 appears to have an angle. Is the angle giving us more space in the actual room, or on the balcony (fingers crossed!)? I have searched high and low trying to find pics or videos or anything about the "hump" cabins on the end.

Anyone who has sailed on Mariner in a JS, is there enough room for a lounger or two? It's really hard to tell from what pics I could find.

    Thanks in advance 🌻

  7. Hello all, just curious if any of you would happen to know if we would be able to have a MDR entree delivered like room service? My mom and I are heading out on Oasis again and have decided to splurge a bit for one surf and turf night, but we are only in a balcony cabin (I say that like it's a bad thing ;pLOL). From what I understand, suite guests are able to utilize room service free of charge, and ALSO order off of the MDR menu. Obviously I would be paying the up-charge for the meals and tipping whoever graces us with it's delivery.

I just had the thought that it would be nice to enjoy a quiet dinner on the balcony.

Thoughts? Is my dream of eating filet and lobster on our balcony squashed?

  8. Relatively new to cruising. So I have a 5 night Bermuda on Anthem sailing in April that I am 90% sure I will have to cancel. There are 2 guests. I am before final payment date and Royal told me over the phone that becasue it was a Non refundable deposit of $500, by cancelling I will forfeit $100pp fee and receieve the rest of the deposit ($300) as a FCC to be used within a year. However, when I initially booked this cruise, I called and had them apply a FCC from a cruise that was cancelled due to Irma in Septemeber.

If you cancel a cruise that had a FCC applied to it, will you get that back as well or fofeit it? I will try to call again when I can, but thought maybe someone knew the dealio with a situation like this clear.png?emoji-grin-1677

    Thanks in advance

  10. Subscribing to this thread. We are scheduled on Majesty Friday Sep 15 so I am interested in what might be happening by then to PC and the Bahamas ports. It looks like the Bahamas are going to get hit hard as well.

I am concerned for all those involved in this monster hurricane in the islands and in the US. . I live in central Florida and have family and friends all over Florida and up the east coast so I am praying that Irma will go more and more easterly and become a "fish."

Thanks for all your information and updates.

Sent from my iPad using Forums

I am on the same cruise. Also very concerned about how hard Freeport and even Port Canaveral may get hit. And us too, in central FL. It seems like with how much the models keep slightly varying east and west, we are still going to get some very ugly weather.

  11. Hi. My mother and I went with Jeff Pinder through Grand Bahama Eco Tours (he still took us even though we were the only two people who signed up!!). It's his Eastern Heritage Cultural Tour to Grand Lucayan National Park and Gold Rock Beach. He was the nicest guide imaginable -- took us to a great restaurant on another beautiful beach for lunch. The whole trip is about 4.5 - 5 hours. I would highly recommend him.

Trying to attach a picture...but I'm not sure how to

Hey there - I am also interested. How long did you get to stay on Gold Rock beach? Did you get round-trip port transportation?

OK... Trying once again to attach a couple pictures of our tour.

** And at Gold Rock Beach, the water was very shallow - it's like being on a sand bar. People were still standing in knee deep water very far out. So I don't think it would be a good place to snorkel.

Hey there - I am also interested. How long did you get to stay on Gold Rock beach? Did you get round-trip port transportation? I have never done excursions before, so I am naturally even a little more anxious to go with an outside company.

  12. Heading to Freeport on Majesty soon, and am going to be booking a snorkle excursion at Paradise cove (deadmansreef.com). However, when we return, I was thinking we could head to the Lucaya market for some shopping/exploring and maybe another beach? From the market area, are the closest beaches accessible by walking? When we return from Paradise cove, we would have to take a taxi to the market, but will we need to take another taxi to get to a close beach? If that is the case, we will probably just spend a little more time at Paradise cove and come back to the ship.

And for those of you who have used Deadmansreef.com, the excursions do include round-trip transportation, correct? I get so paranoid about missing the ship

  13. Setting sail on Majesty in 19 short days and Freeport is our first stop. I have my heart set on going to Gold Rock beach and also seeing some of the caves/caverns. The excursions on Royal's website don't specify which beaches the tours go to. Does anyone know of a Royal Caribbean or outisde excursion that specifically goes to these places?

Does you guys have any recommendations for tours or companies?

    TIA! :p

  14. Alright so I will be sailing on the Oasis in September (eastern, ocean view balcony stateroom). This will be my first cruise and I am very excited. I have been perusing this site (and RCCL website) for weeks now just trying to get some insider info, but I still have a few questions/concerns that I have not seen answered. Please bear with me, I am new to this.

    1. (I know this sounds outrageous). Are there fire sprinklers in the stateroom bathrooms? I know I have seen them on the ceiling of the rooms in some pics.

    2. In our experience, are there a lot of smokers aboard, or it it pretty spacious so it really isn't an issue? Myself and my Mom especially (who is accompanying me) is super sensitive to smoke.

    3. I have seen a lot of different posts concerning whether or not we can bring a pack of water on board, but most of them are dated a few years back saying "yes we had no problem"... Anyone sailing out of Fort Lauderdale this year have any issue with bringing water onboard?

    4. If I check bag at embarkation, is there a fee like an airline?

    5. Are the buffet eateries open 24hrs, so I can go have a 3am snack?

Ok I think that is it for now, until I can think of anything else. Thanks in advance for your replies, I really appreciate them!!:)

I really cannot wait for this trip! I love being out on the ocean with nothing but water surrounding you, it is so peaceful.
