So true special diet! Eating on the ship was a dream compared to navigating Asian restaurants with a nut allergy kid! We actually didn't even try, she ate packaged snacks or plain boiled rice on our day trips.

To those who think that filling out a special needs form is enough, you'll likely be very disappointed. If you are cruising with any kind of dietary restriction, there's definitely a lot more to think about and be aware of before and during your cruise. This varies with your exact needs, the venue, and each crew member you interact with. The guide on my website (see signature) will help you navigate all that.
The good news is it's very possible to have a safe and enjoyable dining experience. My wife and I do cruise holidays specifically because of our multiple dietary issues. It's not painless, but far less so than being in an unfamiliar city and having to spend hours every day to find safe food. :)

I would exchange your dollars before you leave. Most ports have a currency exchange but not always, and it may be expensive.

We were on millennium over Christmas and had to have luggage out by 10pm, vacate by 8am.
I agree 7am is not a great way to end your cruise.

I just did a Celebrity cruise and didn't hear anything about it when telling staff about my daughters peanut allergy.
I found the our waitress in the main dining room was excellent - every night she would tell my daughter what was safe for her to eat on the menu. Having the same staff every night was so helpful because we only explained once. At the buffet it was a lot harder, but I found staff erred on the side of caution.

My sister had to cancel after becoming pregnant. She was given cruise credits to use within 12 months. She was advised not to go because we cruised to Zika affected areas. I hop that helps and good luck!

Hi all,
I'm a newbie both to cruising and this forum :)
I am booked with extended family on Millennium S/E Asia Cruise over Christmas, and have a couple of questions - well probably a lot of questions, but a couple for now!!
Firstly, I would love any recommendations on shore excursions from those who have done the S/E Asia cruise - I haven't been to any of the ports before so am a bit lost on where to start, as the descriptions are a bit vague.
My second question is, what to expect re Christmas day on the ship? Is there are traditional Christmas lunch or dinner?
Thank you in advance :)
Best South Pacific cruise leaving from Australia?
in Pacific Islands, All

Hi all,
We are an Aussie family just back from our first cruise - Celebrity Millennium south east Asia.
Now I'm thinking about doing a Fiji etc cruise - would love opinions on the best ships to go on.
We have two teens and like luxury over ships with lots of slides etc.
TIA!
