Look forward to reading your review. We really enjoyed our trip in August. I have friends who are on there also but apparently they had issues with their room key. :o
-
I must forward this by saying I've only been on one cruise which was the Oasis. But, I actually prefer the MDR for breakfast and lunch. Since it was my first cruise, I wanted to try several venues during the week and MDR was my favorite for breakfast and lunch. JR was ok but I only ordered French toast. I only ate one breakfast in the Windjammer and made sure I was there upon opening (being a nurse, I struggle with buffet type venues :p)

Congratulations!! :champagne-toast:

Nose in adds about 25 minutes to the time it takes to get to open water. Here she goes tonight.

Ah...that was us heading out. I never paid attention to which side she docked on when I booked our room and didn't realize it was different from other times.

Yay! So glad to get to read this and enjoyed it as much as the previous. Even learned a few new things. I now have one week before we head south.

Nice to see my review keeps getting bumped. Sitting in the terminal waiting to board as I type. Considered a semi-live report but just post another longish review after we get back.
Looking forward to this review... leaving in under 2 weeks for my turn!:)

Ah...enjoyed reading your brief overview! Actually copied and pasted your post and some responses into a word document so I can print it and make notes when I actually have time after work (you gave some good pointers I haven't seen before). Going on the Oasis at the end of July with my two teens and this will be our first cruise ever. I plan for this to be a relaxing vacation and not one where we are constantly on the go. I've tried to soak up as much information as possible, especially the more recent reviews (and there are several going on right now which has changed my mind about a few things :)). Thank you for sharing your knowledge!

Drop off and parking are clearly marked, and there are many port agents who assist you. Cost of port parking was $128. We opted for this (despite my strict cruise budget), as DH is still recovering from the surgery, and I wanted to make it easy for his sake.
So glad to hear this! I plan to park at the port since I didn't want to have to deal with a shuttle with 2 teens and luggage. For my sanity and peace of mind, the deck at the terminal is just a better option.

Thank you for sharing your input! My kids and I will be going on the Oasis at the end of July for our first ever cruise. :) I've been enjoying seeing more posts from people regarding their experiences. Some of the previous posts had me concerned I had chosen wrong.

It's showing in my cruise planner and I leave at the end of July. It shows up under the Entertainment and Activities link....think I may have to book it for my kids and I. :)

More importantly, they do specialty coffee that's included with the drink package. :-)
They had oatmeal with brown sugar and dried cranberries; various muffins; a bagel sandwich station with flavored cream cheeses, smoked salmon and onions & stuff; in addition to the egg sandwiches and burritos.
So glad to hear this about the coffee. My kids and I will be on the same deck for our cruise and I had hoped to be able to get breakfast there instead of having to go to a different level. :)

I've been watching the planner for quite some time and the first time the drink offer was available was back in the fall. Then it went back to full price until this weekend. That's the cheapest I've seen it for the refreshment package (I don't drink enough for the deluxe so haven't paid attention to it).

I believe it is very warm and humid in July. You might want to take a cab to Queens Staircase, Fort Fincastle is at the top of the Staircase and to your right. Maybe take another cab to Junkanoo Beach, and then walk back to the ship when you are done at the beach. I do not know what cabs cost is Nassau, but the walk to the staircase is uphill.
I'm from the south so figure the humidity won't be much worse than it is here...kind of like sticking your head in an oven. :')

This is the walking tour we created and did last Thanksgiving.
Thank you! I've been trying to figure out something for this port and this gives me some good ideas. I don't go until the end of July but it will be just my kids and me so I know I have to be careful also. Been trying to do some research but everything seems expensive for a single mom budget.

Thank you for this! We will have our first ever cruise on Oasis and it's nice to see some basic info regarding her. Some of the reviews have had me wondering if I should seek out a different line all together. My fears probably won't be relieved until the end of July when we finally board. :)

Nice review of the sushi! Thank you for providing some insight. My kids and I love sushi but wasn't sure how it would be on the ship. Now I think it might be a place we have to visit. :D

Love these pics! What filter/app are you using to make them look like this?

Yay! Thank you for posting these. My family won't cruise until the end of July but I too had wondered if there would be much difference from the ones posted on the blog. Thank you so much for sharing these since my planning OCD was starting to get really bad! :D

Sometimes in an emergency situation, there is coverage. However, if it was considered out of the country, there may be extra steps you have to go through. You might want to call and request to speak with a Case Manager for your group and they might can help you more with that process.

Thank you for sharing this! Was able to get this price for my Oasis Cruise at the end of July. Now if other things would go on "sale" also. :D
Actually just looked and it was 7.99.

I'll go on a different itinerary this summer but have really enjoyed reading your reviews. Have been reading all the different reviews written for the Oasis and love hearing the different points of view. Thank you for sharing with everyone! :)

To elaborate: while the Solarium is designated adult only, the Solarium Bistro is open to all. The Bistro entrance is immediately inside the Solarium; no need to pass through the main part of the Solarium to get to the Bistro.
MDR has breakfast everyday, but MDR lunch is on Sea Days only. MDR lunch has a good salad bar (not as good as it used to be, but still probably the best salad bar on the ship), a soup, sandwich, etc served menu, and a hot buffet.

Thank you for mentioning this... I have 2 teens traveling with me and wasn't sure if they would be able to eat there also. I tend to try to eat healthier and heard this was a good option.

Looking forward to following along over the next week. My children and I will be taking our first cruise on Oasis next July and it's been hard finding info since her move to PC. I know most things should be pretty much the same but also know change is inevitable and will usually occur when you least expect it. :)

Eagerly awaiting this review. Recently booked a cruise on Oasis for July and trying to soak up as much information as I possibly can now. :)
Don't know about you folks, but I'm going to start posting in bold
