  1. I’m thinking about a 5 day cruise Norwegian Sun Oct 6. Ports of call Seattle, Victoria and Ketchikan. Does this go through the inside passage, can I see glaciers on this cruise. Can someone look at the map. I just don’t know anything about the area. 5 night cruise is all I can do.

  2. I read a lot of flights were cancelled this past weekend due to “ weather” and staff shortages over the vaccine mandates. Did anyone here experience this problem? We are going in the day before, but I see there’s not a lot of alternative flights should mine get cancelled. the ones that I do see are ridiculously overpriced. About 5 times more than what I paid. I leave this weekend.

  3. I’m interested in one of these three tours while I’m at port next week. I tried to contact Trikes but their website isn’t very good. Also when I try to submit a question it says  “please fix errors”. I don’t see any errors. Does anyone know if the Trikes excursion  is still in exsistence?
With any of these three tours,I’d rather not make a reservation and just find them at the port as we disembark. Will these tours be available as a walk-up without reservations? If so, where would I likely find them at the port?

  4. Well I went ahead and got the booster. He wrote the booster date on the original card. It specifically shows two stickers with dates  for my first and second jab and then handwritten “ Booster 10/25/21”. I best not have any problems. When I called RCCL  I very clearly repeated the word Booster about 5 times. But still I think she must be confused.

  5. I wanted to get a booster shot tomorrow but after a call to RCL they said even the booster needs to be no sooner than 14 days from sailing( Nov 8 embarkation). Not sure why since a booster isn’t even required. I would have liked the extra protection of the booster.

If your purchased the two pack from Optum, and they were in stock, I'm very confident that you will get it by Wednesday.  They know that these tests are time critical.  We ordered from Optum and it took a few days for them to ship.  But it was shipped FedEx Overnight.

If you don't receive the order by Saturday, you can always use the Cruise with Confidence policy and cancel for a FCC.

Someone upthread told me you could get a money refund and didn’t have to get an FCC because of the new 2 day change. No?

I'm not buying the I'm too old and technically challenged bit either. If you can find your way to Cruise Critic you can surely find a YouTube video on how to take the test. Some have even posted a link here. I also find it hard to believe that in almost two years an elderly person hasn't had a video visit with a doctor. My parents are pushing 90 don't have a computer but have a tablet that they have been using for Dr visits.  If all else fails ask a 10yr old in the neighborhood to help you.

You might not be “ buying it” but it’s real. I find technology so frustrating that I sometimes cry real tears, and I ain’t joking.

  8. Also, again I’m sorry if this has already been asked,I sail Nov 8 and have made my final payment. With the new 2 day testing rule is there an option to cancel and just receive a refund? I do not want a FCC,I want my money back. I’m computer illiterate and the home test stresses me out( I’m old),I don’t want to already be stressed out before the cruise.

  9. I’m sorry if this has been already asked. I have no doubt in my mind I will have trouble with the in home test. Yes,I know it’s easy, that doesn’t matter,I’m never successful without a lot of attempts and do overs along with frustration, high blood pressure and oftentimes tears. Not only will I have to get past my ignorance with technology,my cell phone signal is sketchy at best so the call could drop. That being said, can you do I trial run? Maybe a week or two before the real test. Get them on the phone and see how it works? How much do the tests cost? Yes,I could wait and get tested at the dock when they offer that but if for some reason I came up positive, my insurance policy would not cover me...I don’t think. I believe we need to know if we can not sail before 48 hours of departure.

  10. If it involves technology, I’m out. My husband and I both are technology illiterate. Anytime something involves computer, video etc, no matter how “easy” someone says it is, we are not successful.I’m sure there is other elderly travelers that feel the same way.
We we’re looking forward to the cruise but we don’t feel comfortable with Walgreens getting results back to us in time, two days is not enough time in case Walgreens doesn’t come through. I’m telling my husband today that I’m not willing to go through the stress.

  11. Well I’m already going to be risking my arrival flight to FLL. I only have 50 minutes to connect frommDFW( the day before the cruise)I guess I’ll take the later flight going back home. I use to live in DFW and most things were a direct flight. Now I live in small town zmissouri and I’m not use to connecting flights. Don’t like them. I was spoiled.

  12. Does anyone know what shows are on the ship. I’ve googled and really didn’t get any answers except for After Midnight which doesn’t really interest me. I’d probably rather go with Joy or Encore but the price was about $500 cheaper on Escape for my dates. Now just waiting on my large column TA to call back and get me booked.
