  1. The only experience we've had with an Alaska cruise having kayaks and skiffs that launch from the ship was with UnCruise and Alaskan Dream. While Windstar charges about $170 per excursion, both other lines included these excursions in the price although the base cost was more. Guess we're paying for it one way or another! We're looking forward to the Windstar experience this year.

What is the date of your cruise?

  2. I have discovered that we are better off NOT booking early as incredible sales from TA's are available. I tried to post about 4 months ago, but it was taken down because I named the TA. Twice, Windstar did adjust my booking price when I called and showed them a better price (which they had said I should do upon my original booking), but I still feel we'd be better off booking late.

  3. Hi - we disembarked our Windstar cruise in Civitavecchia last June and booked Stefano's RomeCabs with another couple - 150 Euros total for 4 versus $115 USD per person for Windstar's airport transfers. It's a no brainer! :)

The other couple had an 11:00 AM flight (ours was noon) so the van was booked for 7:15 AM. The driver was waiting for us right there outside the baggage area, so our ride was swift and he dropped us off at our respective terminals. This was the 2nd time we've used Stefano's RomeCabs and they are super-easy to book (you can either pre-pay or pay the driver in Euros at drop off), super friendly, super courteous.

Have you done the reverse? We arrive at FCO at 8 in the morning and our cruise doesn't leave Civitivecchia until 5, with boarding around 3, so we have lots of time.
