  1. Anyone have experience with boarding when the ship stays in port that first night?

Basically my flight from Paris lands in Bologna on the Oct 12th at 5:15pm then it’s an hour drive to the port in Ravenna

(the ship leaves Ravenna the afternoon of the 13th)

Csn I still board that night of the 12th?

The last boarding time on the app was like 4:30 I believe ..

I’d call Celebrity but don’t have time to wait during their insane hold times and hoping someone here would know

Honestly when one already has the PBP what value is there to two bottles of wine and a wine tasting event or the in room mini bar? How much alcohol can you drink? The only thing of value is the $50 casino credit and why pay that much more money for it? In addition, if you're in Concierge, Aqua or a Suite you already get a bottle of sparkling wine that can be traded for red or white wine or Prosecco?

great point-- i forgot how the sparkling can be traded for a red or white.

Any of the sommeliers can book it. You will also see restaurant staff when you board selling specialty dining.  We booked with a sommelier in Luminae.  If you book with wait staff ask about the complementary wine event. We choose the Around the World Wine Tasting.

Thanks so much-- I'll check with the Sommelier in Luminae. And the wine tasting sounds fantastic as well.

  5. Oh I'm so so sorry to hear this news. Marilyn was so kind to me with all my questions as I went on the inaugural Edge Cruises and was so excited. I was glued to CC to get all of her great updates and she was so sweet to me and excited for the cabin i was able to secure.

    With sadness,

Hi Sheltielover1973 - we are heading out on the Edge next week and will be in 10272...wondered what your thoughts were on that cabin.  Was the bed by the window or bathroom?

    Thanks!

Hi! The bed was by the bath. I liked it--- but the window washer contraption was just to the right.. so I felt that was a bit of an eyesore. Loved the privacy though all the way in the aft of the ship! Enjoy! the EDGE is beautiful and make sure to eat dinner OUTSIDE when you dine at Blu!  They'll serve breakfast and/or dinner outside if in port and not windy. We had a fabulous dinner under the stars one night! And of course, the spa is beautiful! loved taking advantage of it with Aqua class!

  7. Hello from a SNOWY (6" and still coming down) Minneapolis! Just spent the last few hours reading your entire trip report! It is fantastic and I love your sense of humor! We leave on the Silhoutte on Feb 22nd for the 9 night ABC Islands cruise and I'm very excited!

I was actually on the EDGE that day when you were all docked alongside! She's a beauty!

Thanks for the report! Your family is darling!!

We may see you on dec 16th cruise. In the meantime can you check on something. Someone on facebook wants to know if cabin 12147 is an inside or IV cabin... She also wonders what type of cabin 12151 is. Now a few months back there was a situation where Celebrity moved a few cabin numbers around so that what was an IV became inside... at the time the deck plans did not match the change. So at this point I can not recall what cabins were involved in the change... thanks

Sure- happy to go check it out and report back!

Wishing you a good trip but would never want to be in the cabin next to you and therefore have to listen to your music.

No one loves  music on holiday more  than me but I would not inflict my music on my fellow passengers.

A major  part of my cruise is quiet relaxation time on the balcony.

Karen, we always ask the rooms around us if they can hear it and if so we'll lower or shut off. Btw we play Classical music or artists such as Sade. In years of cruising not one complaint-  and fellow neighbors mentioning what a good idea it is. Happy Cruising!

    Hello Everyone!

VT has inspired me to do a review of our upcoming back to back cruises- especially since I haven’t seen much on Aqua class yet.

I think I’ve spent the last week or so just refreshing Cruise Critic to follow everything EDGE! My husband thinks I’m obsessed (and he’s RIGHT!)

    Cabins:

Dec 9:                  Aqua 10272 – We booked this cabin the minute they opened up reservations. We are the very last cabin. (so bummed they don’t have AFT Aqua)

Dec 16:                 Suite (S1) 7309 – We were originally still in 10272 for the second leg, but as I was reading reviews of the I got a bit concerned we wouldn’t have enough light.     Also, we really wanted to experience the suite class and the AFT. So, we were so lucky that an AFT S1 opened so we jumped on it. We’re paying about $1k more each for this experience. So, it will be interesting to see if this is worth it. This S1 is located by the open area of Eden… so I’ll be curious about noise at night. I also already know we'll be asking for a lounger to be placed out there as we really utilize that area!

Us:                         My name is Aimee and my best friend is Kelly. Both in our mid 40’s. We live in the Minneapolis area! (and love it- despite the snow!)

I was never a “cruise” person until Kelly told me how amazing Celebrity was about 5 years ago—now I’m addicted! We love the SUMMIT and Captain Kate and have been on SUMMIT about 4 times.

We did a Med Cruise last fall on Reflection and loved that too. And are bringing our Mom’s on Silhouette this Feb for the ABC Islands in Suites. (Fun to spoil the moms)

Spa:                       We are HUGE spa girls—hence why we typically book Aqua! So, we do have multiple services scheduled throughout the 2 weeks to include some of the new and unique massages! So, I’ll make sure to give reviews of those and the thermal suite.

Excursions:         Kelly’s getting off in Mexico for a few excursions and then we both are doing the Jost Van Dyke excursion thru the ship the 2nd week. This trip is only about the       EDGE for me—so I plan to spend the bulk of my time onboard and exploring and eating/drinking/socializing!

Dining:                  During the first cruise we have reservations at Eden, Fine Cut Steak House- and then plan to eat in BLU- I love the idea of the outdoor dining in BLU! Second cruise we plan to focus soley on Luminae and the Suite experience. Id like to do the Magic carpet as I’m seeing some great pics already on here and instagram! So, I’m open to that if we can get in!

Travel:                  We fly from MSP to RSW (Ft Myers) this Thurs (6th) and are staying with my Mom and Dad in Bonita Springs for 3 nights and then we’ll just do the quick drive over “Alligator Alley” to Ft Lauderdale! So, I’ll most likely document our first 3 nights too – exploring Naples, etc.

Packing:               We are all packed! And since these are holiday cruises I ordered a small pre lit tree and wreath from Amazon to be delivered to my Dad’s house in Bonita Springs (easier then lugging on the plane!) and we’ll just put the luggage tags on them and hope they get to our room! I’ve never done this idea before- so I’m hoping it works!

We also love to bring a battery operated candle for our veranda as we sit out late into the night talking and listening to music.  We also bring our small speaker for that said music

Instagram:           I tend to post a lot from my phone on there if you want more "real time". My name on there is "samsheltie" ( my husband and I have 4 shetland sheepdogs who are the loves of our lives!)

Please let me know if you have any questions and I’m happy to try and answer. We have unlimited wifi on both legs so I’m sure I’ll be on CC quite a bit from my ipad!

i actually edited that already, obviously not before you noticed.

We have an S1 AFT on Dec 16th. I can post pics here if it hasn't been shown by then. I'm so happy to have it. Not really feeling the Infinite veranda so far-- we have an Aqua IF on Dec 9th. I just love looking up at the stars. But maybe I'm wrong- I'm very excited to experience BOTH!
