When we booked excursions through a Thomson shop the agents were Attraction World. We were unable to take a trip due to norovirus and Thomson were absolutely useless when we tried to get a refund. After four months of being ignored we sent a letter to Attraction World and bingo, within days we got our refund. You will find their address on the Internet if necessary.

I am due to go on TUI Discovery in June for a Mediterranean cruise and the only day excursion i have booked is Rome. I am a little concerned that some people are saying that when they arrived on ship they were told that due to mistakes made by booking agency their names were not included on the list therefore they could not go. Is there anything i can do beforehand to ensure i do not experience this? I am new to this and have never cruised before, Rome is the one place we are really looking forward to and it wasnt a cheap excursion so i would hate to be disappointed!

thanks for that it was helpful and yes leaving the bathroom light on is an excellent idea! i tend to wake before my husband and i know that i will be fumbling around in the dark and turning lights on will only wake him as well so bathroom light is a good idea! i am hearing alot about people upgrading is this cheaper to do when you board the ship or something?

hi am doing my first cruise next year and its all booked. My only concern is i have booked due to finance inside cabin, no window but larger type room with TUI Discovery 1. I am now worried that having no window and no natural light is going to be a problem. i like to sleep in the dark so no issue with that but is the lighiting in these rooms sufficient enough for general use. I am readiing stories of travellers saying how awful it is to have no window etc and am thinking have i made a mistake? we dont plan on spending that much time in the room but can understand how the darkness constantly would have an affect on getting up in the morning etc with no light to gauge what time it is so to speak. am i worrying over nothing?

yes i have looked on websites which are informative. With regards to food i can see that there is alot of choice on the cruise but what worries me is the fact that its seems to all be meals seem to be rather posh lol. For me that is fine but my better half is a meat and two veg man:mad: and steak of course but wont eat fancy foods or foreign foods is he going to be limited on his food?

thanks for that its good to hear some positive stuff im sure as you said the 'new ****' syndrome would affect reviews. Im really looking forward to it now! we did originally go for the celebrity cruise which would have been 14 nights but though we should walk before we could run lol.:)

i am going on my first ever cruise with thomson on highlights of the Mediterranean cruise on the TUI Discovery ship June 2017. I am told by thomson that i will be on a revamped ship to be the TUI 1 discovery ship but cannot find any reviews on this particular ship is this because it is not in use for this yet? So far the reviews of the Discovery have not exactly been glowing so is there anyone out there going on the same cruise as me or on it before me?? can anyone give me positive feedback?

I cannot find anything on the use of irons do i need to bring a travel iron with me? if they are not in the room can i request one or is there a laundry room i can go to in order to iron clothers?
