  1. That's good to hear. Do we still have to have the souvenir cup and use it at the bars, or can we get a regular glass? I really don't wanna carry a souvenir cup around all cruise. I'd like to be able to go to a bar, grab a drink and leave my glass there (or anywhere for that matter).

  2. I haven't seen anyone in the sports bar at all.

The TV's are on, but there are no handles on the beer taps or bar ware behind the bar.

That being said. The 3 large screen TV's were tuned to:

    ESPN, ESPN 2 and FS1

Really? I’ve been on 5 different cruises and I’ve never seen FS1 in the sports bar before!! That really excites me!!

  3. My family and I sail on the Sunshine in June. We are big soccer fans and the World Cup will be playing at that time. Can you go by the sports bar and ask them if they have Telemundo? (The Spanish broadcast rights are with Telemundo. English is on FS1, which I know the ship doesn’t carry.)

  4. Does the Sunshine have Telemundo? We are cruising the end of June during the World Cup the English telecast will be on Fox1, which i know is not on Carnival. However the Spanish telecast will be on Telemundo.

Does anyone know if Telemundo is carried by Carnival?

  5. We are starting to plan our 2018 family cruise. We are looking at either the Sunshine 8 day or the Magic 7 day. The port are the same. We would like your opinion on the 2 different ships. I know the Magic is newer, but the Sunshine itineraries have an extra day.

Also, my family and I love to spend ALOT of time in the sports bar when we have cruised on the Freedom. I know the Magic doesn't have a sports bar...The Magic is a little cheaper, but not enough to factor into our decision.

What are your thoughts and why?

  6. Our cruise is June 13-21. We would like to stay either 1-2 days before or after the cruise. We plan on being able to carry all our luggage ourselves, but we're probably still looking at 8-10 bags (including backpacks and such).

Our airfare is not booked yet. We don't want to book it until we have a plan for hotel/transportation in place.

As far as budget goes, I don't know...cheap?!?!

I am open to all sorts of recommendations and advice.

  7. My daughter is graduating HS this year and wants to cruise on the Horizon to celebrate. Our family is Mom, Dad, 18, 13, 5 (all daughters).

    I have several questions:

    1. We would like to come in a day early or stay a day late (or a couple) but I am getting sticker shock as I look at hotels in NYC. Does anyone have any recommendations? Is it cheaper/better to stay in Jersey and travel back and forth? (or would the travel expense negate any hotel savings)

    2. Which airport do you recommend we fly in to?

    3. There is a direct flight that arrives at 10:30 on the day of our cruise (LaGuardia). Is it too risky to try and fly in on the day of?

    4. What's the best way to get to/from the airport with 5 people (and too much luggage)?

  8. Does anyone have any experience using Uber/Lyft to get from the hotel to the terminal? Our hotel offers free parking and an Uber would only be $6 each way to the terminal. This would be much cheaper than cruise parking. However I am concerned as to whether or not all our luggage would fit in a normal Uber.

  9. My wife and I are cruising on the 4-day Valor in July. We have FTTF. What is the earliest check-in time they allow and what is the average time boarding starts?

We are signed up for the 11:00 check-in, but I read somewhere that check in usually begins around 10:00. With FTTF I know we can check in whenever, but I don't want to sit in the holding area forever waiting either.

  10. Last year my family and I cruised to Roatan and used Victor Bodden tours. We had a private driver that drove us all over the island and showed us the culture, homes, etc. I feel like we were able to see what Roatan was really like. He also took us to several attractions that we were interested in seeing...

My question is: Is there anything like this in Montego Bay? We would love to see the island and maybe make a couple stops for eating, shopping, sightseeing, etc.

Is there a company that provides this type of tour?
