Starting mid-March Jamaica will be one hour earlier than East coast US time. If our ship is leaving the East Coast will ship time be Eastern Daylight time? I am trying to determine Jamaica time vs Ship time for our cruise at the end of March.

We are arriving at Ocho Rios Jamaica on March 29th. I originally booked the shore excursion for Bamboo Beach Club VIP, but after seeing some negative reviews I was considering cancelling that and getting a day pass at Sandals Ochi. Has anyone else done this? What is your experience getting a cab from and to the port? What is your experience with the resort?

We will need to take a private taxi at around 2:30 in the afternoon from the cruise port in Ocho Rios to the Jamaica Inn and then take another one back around 4:00. Is it safe to take a private taxi in Ocho Rios, Jamaica? If so, should we book this ahead of time, or what are suggestions?

We are first time cruisers and will be sailing on the NCL Epic for 7 days in the Western Caribbean early next year. We will be doing Alternative Dining several nights, but also plan to eat a few nights in the MDR, probably the Manhattan Room. I was wondering if there are specific nights that we should definitely plan to be in a MDR?
