  3. Sailing Celebrity for the 1st time. Taking the Constellation out of Ft.Lauderdale on Jan. 14th.

Can anyone give me advice on the best time to arrive at the pier .....late or early to avoid the long lines?

Does Celebrity provide robes in the cabins?

Where is the hairdryer located in the cabins? In the vanity/desk area or in the bathroom ?

    THANKS SO MUCH

  4. I was looking for a hotel that someone had actually stayed at. I saw the Ink48 Hotel.....but really don't want to spend over $400 for basically a place to sleep.

I'm coming in on Amtrak, Penn Station....will arrive about 6 pm. and be out by 11 am the next morning.

    THANKS

  5. Coming into New York on Sept 5th....alone. Meeting family the next day and leaving out of New on the Splendor.

Can anyone recommend a hotel near the port that's reasonable ( for NY ) and close to the port. Won't have time to sight see so locations near restaurants, subway etc. is not important. Will be in late on the 5th....out early on the 6th.

Just want clean, close and safe.

    THANKS:):D:cool:

  6. We were also on this sailing of the Breeze. We had a wonderful time. We all loved the ship.....very different from previous ship's décor. It was spotless and we all thought the service and the food was excellent EVERYWHERE on the ship.

We enjoyed all the stops.....but also mostly stayed on board and enjoyed the ship when in the Dominican Republic.

There were a LOT of kids on board and we were prepared for it....being a Christmas sailing. So, we tried our best to ignore it when a group of teens would push by us on the stairs.....or knock us over getting out of the elevator....or butt in front of us in the buffet line.....or screech and run around all the chaises on the lido deck. I feel really sorry sometimes for the staff on these ships .....it's unbelievable what they have to put up with from these spoiled, unruly kids. I'm so tired of the attitude....."it's my vacation and I paid for it so I'll do whatever I want"

OK.....off my kid rant. We won't be sailing over Christmas again....till they come up with an adults only ship !

I can't imagine anyone not enjoying themselves on this beautiful ship.

  7. Well, he's pretty much resigned to missing the game! We are sailing over Christmas with our daughter and SIL....they can not go any other week.

SO.........I think I'm going to take the advice of booking the next closest

flight and maybe he can get there early enough and get on standby for the early flight. I don't care if they split us up going home.....I'm not going to the game ! :)

If the Steelers have as dismal a year as they did last year.....he may end up being glad he's missing !!! He is a true fan though....has only missed 2 games since 1978 !!! And that includes some MIGHTY COLD WEATHER !!!

Thanks to everyone for the advice !!!! This board sure does come in handy !!!!

  8. I agree with all of you. My husband is a die hard Steeler fan and never misses a game. When the fall schedule came out yesterday, he found he

he's missing 2 games for our cruise in December. He's not happy !

This is the only flight I could find that will get him in to Pittsburgh in time to get to the game....that's going straight from the airport to the stadium and with no delays !!!!

I agree it's too risky. But.....another question. If we did book this one and miss it.....would they just put us on another flight? Would there be extra costs? I don't fly much and I'm not up on all the added costs etc of the airlines today.
