You or the parents are responsible for providing the appropriate car seats AND installing them in the car for hire be it Uber/Taxi. Violations the parents get the ticket, minimum $475. If parents aren't around the driver gets it.

    Shuttle buses are exempt.

Thanks - I know that about uber etc. but was looking for recommendations for private car hire that supplied them. I know there are some out there - but hoping for first hand experience so we book one we will be happy with.

  2. We are coming into LAX March 16 and need to get to the San Pedro area for pre cruise hotel, and then need a ride frrom the the port back to LAX on March 22.

Usually we just grab a cab, or uber - but this time we are taking grandkids (5 and 3) so I assume I will need a ride that supplies car seats?

One car seat and a booster seat for the littles - and then the four of us adults.

    Recommendations GREATLY appreciated!

  3. Thanks all involved in this process........jetwet1 for identifying the problem, all of you who helped us sort this out and to zydecocruiser for helping us "see" the outcome of the decisions that we made!!

Happy cruising for all :) :D

    I agree 100%

I am so grateful for this forum.

I can't imagine how I would have felt, having booked my "Dream" trip two years out, to eagerly open that cabin door and see whats NOT there!

Now I know exactly what to expect, and thanks to all of you, its going to be awesome!:D

  4. So no couch....but is there a chair????

OH! Now that I go look again, there is a little table, but no chairs!

A little stool for the makeup desk, but that's it.

I guess I got so excited actually being able to see a bit of space that I got carried away!!

    sorry.....:o

Again I beg ....BRING ON THE DECK 6 PICS!!!

  5. I was just on the Carnival website and noticed that both deck 8 - 9a cabins are gone. I don't think they are booked as I am sooo far from sailing and a couple of days ago they were both there. Both deck 7's are there, and the other deck 6. Wonder if Carnival is going to change the category?

(Just thought it was an interesting tidbit to share) :o

  6. IMHO......They are never going to be able to fix the size of the cabin :( - and there is some question as to whether or not they can - or will - move the divider .

If you have already made the decision that 8473 is not going to work for you - then I would go ahead and change.

oops.....didn't see you made the same point! We must have been typing at the same time....:o

  7. I've been reading this thread with considerable interest. I can't really tell if the cabins mentioned are wrap arounds or not. Seems like the deck plans Carnival displays should be as accurate as possible! My concern is 9A cabin 6479 on the upper deck. My brother in law has booked that cabin for the 8/21/10 sailing while we have 8A 6477 next to that cabin. Any info on these cabins? Is 6479 a wrap around as the deck plans indicate. My email is tomjamison_66@yahoo.com

Someone on these boards has stayed in a 9a on deck 6 and they loved it. Wrap balcony, roomy cabin with a big sofa. Haven't seen any pics yet, but apparently that should be a good spot! The only negative they had to say was that the bathroom door did not open flat against the wall. Sounds alrite to me! Here is a bit of what she wrote:

  8. If you go to post 148 I give a run down of the balconies, it's a little early to get pictures of the cabins, though we did get to see the a few from the ones on deck 8.

As a side note, we have moved, not so much for the balcony which I am sure Carnival will fix, but because of the layout of the room which is just horrible IMHO.

I have the same concerns. Sounds like deck 6 has a nice size cabin with a big sofa. etc. Would that be an option for you or is it too late? I am booked WAY early so I think I'm going to swap to the 6th deck. I read something about deck 7 having no sofa either, although I can't seem to find that post.

  9. It is amazing to me that the contiune to show - and sell -these a full wraps - with reasonable cabin space  . FRUSTRATING....to say the least!!

    That's right!

Hey - maybe they can move the divider during the short time they have no passengers onboard, but how the heck can they make room for a desk, sofa, or chair???

    I booked thinking I was getting something similar to Tom's 9a pics, not a mini-inside with a balcony! ;)

Beautiful balcony or not, if I have to crawl over my bed to cross the room and do my makeup in the bathroom, I may be better off in a regular aft cabin at a substantial savings???

  10. Well, I too am wondering what to do. My sailing is so far out that I do have the option of switching to another 9a, but after hearing how the cabin is so small as to not fit a chair, nevermind having no sofa, I am hesitating.

And I totally agree with Tom. Why the heck no spirit-type corner suites??

(Although I have never sailed Carnival, I was lucky enough to tour the Spirit once!)

Yes - I booked it for the balcony, but when we ladies are all doing our hair we love to get together, have a glass of wine and do our makeup together while we plan our evening. I can't see it happening in this cabin.

I have heard deck 7 has no seating either....has anyone been in a 9a on deck 6?? Are they also tiny? And is the lounge below them loud??

A CC'er sent me these pics of 8473 on the Dream.
