  1. According to the RCI website:

    https://www.royalcaribbean.com/cruise-ships/itinerary-updates

They've now reversed their decision to blanket-ban all Chinese, HK and Macau passports, but are noting that there are multiple countries that their ships travel to that may not allow passengers into the country with those passports.

This should hopefully help out a few people in this thread that have been hurt by this decision - hopefully it's not too late.

  2. Based on the information in this link:

    https://www.royalcaribbean.com/cruise-ships/anthem-of-the-seas-updates

It looks like the protocol is being updated now from:

Additional health screenings for anyone that holds a Chinese, Hong Kong, or Macau passport – regardless of when they were there last.

    to:

Any guests holding a Chinese, Hong Kong, or Macau passport, regardless of when they were there last, will not be allowed to board our ships

My thought is why would you put your customers through the process to put in a bid when you have no intention of honoring even a max bid. They are giving the perception they have inventory when they don’t and we all know perception is reality.

I don't necessarily disagree with your overall point, but I disagree with this part. Below is the text from the third sentence (so not tiny fine print) in the Royal Up email I got from RC:

This exclusive offer does not guarantee an upgrade. Upgrades are limited and subject to availability up to the day of sailing.

  4. First photo below is a picture of door locks that I found on the CC Oasis photo page (no idea how old), second picture is #50/68 in the gallery just posted. Definitely look like they're updated RFID locks. Maybe they're going to bring on WOW bands after all?

  5. Did the ship look like it was updated at all? I haven't been able to get any information on what was done in dry dock.

It's hard for me to answer having never been on the ship before for comparison, but the ship definitely felt "clean" and smelled like fresh paint in some areas still. It doesn't appear that anything visible to guests was really added or modified, but we definitely enjoyed our time on board and I'm happy I was able to visit Coco Cay before the upcoming changes. The size of the ship gave us a very different experience having cruised most recently on Independence.

  6. Sorry everyone! Chose not to buy the internet package on the ship and stopped getting email alerts for replies to this thread.

The pool was filled and open on Saturday morning like it was never empty and remained in operation the rest of our cruise. That being said - I am zero percent surprised to learn that some over-zealous spring breakers were the reason for these problems after the things I saw on the sailing this weekend.

  7. I’m currently on board Majesty awaiting departure, and the main pool is roped off with no water. I just overheard a lifeguard tell someone that the pool hasn’t worked since they’ve come out of dry dock. The hot tubs and the kids pool area are functioning as expected.

Has anyone that was on the two sailings since coming out of dry dock confirm whether or not the pool was ever open? Seems like there are about to be a lot of angry spring breakers with no pool this weekend.

Thanks in advance for any responses!

  8. I find it a little strange that March 2, 5, 9, 12, 16, 19 are completely sold out. The first available sailing id March 23

Smaller capacity, start of spring breaks and the first two of those sailings are basically a week away, so it doesn't seem that out of the ordinary, right? My 3/9 sailing sold out about a week ago (I check a couple times a day in case a SOV room opens up that I can move up to). I saw interior rooms available for the 3/16 sailing as recently as this morning, so that's just recently filled up.

At least I hope there isn't anything else to this!

  9. Hello!

I'm going with a group on our first RC cruise in February and we were hoping to book Nachi Cocom while we're in Cozumel. I e-mailed them to make sure there were still enough openings on the day we'd be there (2/14 - I think there's 6 ships in port that day!) and they responded the same day to say there were. This was last Monday.

That night, someone else in the party went to book it since they volunteered to put the deposits for our group on their card. The problem is, they accidentally selected MARCH 14th instead of Feb. They immediately e-mailed the reservations department at Nachi and explained the situation, hoping they could change the date of the reservation to the correct date. Tuesday came: No e-mail. Wednesday came and went as well. A second e-mail was sent to them as well as a message on their facebook and no response has been given to them. A third e-mail was sent yesterday asking to just flat-out cancel the reservation and we still have heard nothing.

Has anyone else had difficulty getting responses from them for reservation changes or cancellations? It seems a little "sketchy" that they responded to me within 12 hours but haven't responded to them in an entire week basically.

My main concern is the actual day we want to go is going to fill up before we can either A) Get our reservation changed or B) cancel that one and re-book on the right day (which of course means we're out the initial deposit), but the last thing I want to do is re-book before hearing back from them and end up with two active reservations on the same day.

    Thanks!
