  1. Everyone I think we have the answer,    this has come from a passenger who is on board right now.  They have put this on face book     ( Our first stop we saw the divers were under the boat working from when we docked until we left.  From what we could make out  it was the stabilizer being tinkered with which makes the reason for the rougher crossing over here.  Wouldnt have fancied the trip home if the weather broke that again.

  2. Hi,

This came from Cruise 1st so I guess they got it direct from someone with authority  at MSC as she said she would only get back to me once it was confirmed.Still don't see the Main website updated, apparently they did not figure on so much negative feedback. Hopefully they might do the job properly next time and include it on new bookings only if thats the way things are going to go.

  3.    Just got this through   Good Morning,

Following our conversation the other day, I’ve now received an email back from MSC.

MSC have now confirmed this rule has now been removed and only for the UK, so the tips are not compulsory.

Clients can remove them at the end of the cruise if they are not happy with the service.

Hope this helps, please contact customer services if you still need any help on

  4. Interesting that P&O can give their guests 6 months plus notice that they are removing the Gratuities and MSC give just over 5 weeks to say you have no option but to pay and even that is from Facebook comments by others. I am very disappointed last MSC cruise got talking to quite a few staff members including waiters and all said they hardly ever saw any Gratuities.I have always paid them direct so I know they get them. One loyal family who will be booking elsewhere after my last 2 cruises with them.
