You might want to check your offer - I'm not sure that Getaway offers include priority? I know that Premiere, Ultra and Elite offers do include it, but when I took a cruise through a Getaway offer about a month ago, mine definitely did NOT come with priority boarding. I'm just not sure if any of the Getaways do include it or if it's only on the better offers.

I get that! You can use the back rest pillows from the couch to make a little mattress on the floor instead of putting them in your bed. [emoji106]

Pack and play was a good idea. You could put the littlest one in the pack and play, the middle kid in your bed and the oldest on the couch if both kids don't fit on the couch?

We were looking at the same 2 ships but in March 2019 instead of April. We ended up choosing the Sunshine - both are great ships but we LOVE Aruba & Curacao, and why not enjoy an extra day of vacation for about the same price? [emoji6]

Another vote for cruisers - they're boozy but don't taste like it at all. They're just fruity and yummy.

We were midship on deck 8 on the Vista and our muster drill was in the casino. Sounds fun but everything was closed, obviously. [emoji2] It was nice to be able to sit down, though!

My kids and husband always get a Guy's burger on embarkation day - they just can't wait a minute longer for one as soon as we board, LOL. [emoji488]

I'm good with an hour to an hour and a half for dinner. I don't want to rush through it because I really enjoy the MDR experience, but I also don't want it to drag out.

The Dream is a such fantastic ship!! It's our fave! We were on her in Nov 2016 - loved the ship so much that we booked the same ship for the next year before we got back to port. Our Nov 2017 cruise was after her dry dock where they added Guys Burger and Blue Iguana Cantina among other things, and it made it that much better!! [emoji4]
We were just on the Vista in February 2018 and agreed that even though the Vista was a very nice ship, too (and so new!), we still like the Dream better.
You have nothing to worry about - you're going to have a great time!!

No, the Dream doesn't have a Pour Your Own Beer station.

I had that happen a few months ago for our Feb 2018 booking. I called my PVP, and in order to get the casino rate I had to cancel our original booking and then re-book into the same cabin under the new rate. I think we lost a $50 obc we'd had, but the savings were several hundred dollars so it was worth it. [emoji849]

You will be just fine if you book on the first day. [emoji4] Bring your Thing 1 & 2 shirts! [emoji6] Enjoy!

^ That's true.
However, since you asked, and for whatever it might be worth, when I was on the Victory a few months back, we had a balcony on the starboard side. That was the side facing Key West when we were in port there. We watched a dolphin frolic in the harbour area from our balcony, which was kinda neat!
In Cozumel we faced the water and got to enjoy a beautiful sunset.

We always do YTD, and then every day we scan the Fun Times to see what shows and activities are going on each night that we might be interested in. We then plan our dining around the shows or things we want to do.

We always book through our Carnival PVP. He's fantastic - he's friendly, organized, knowledgeable, and has processed several price reductions for us with zero hassle. It's great to book with someone I like and trust.

Following.
We're in the same situation - going away with a group of adults and would love to hear if there's anything fun to do at night in Curacao! Trendy restaurants or bars? Can anyone recommend anything??

We were at Junkanoo Beach in Jan. 2016. It was meh / okay - not great, not too terrible. There was a little bar on the beach with cheap beer and shots, which was cool. My daughters had their hair braided, and all the kids played in the sand.
Don't bother trying to snorkel there - there's not a ton of marine life to observe.
We did encounter a man who was either VERY mentally ill or out of his mind on drugs. He was rather threatening, so we hurried along on our way quickly. It was a little scary because we had kids with us, but you can obviously encounter those situations anywhere.

I've asked the bartender on the last 2 ships we've been on if they get the gratuity that's added when you purchase CHEERS and they both said no. What??? I assumed they received those funds that we were charged up front! So we tipped cash ($1-2 per drink). We definitely got better service because of our tipping once the bartenders knew us, but I still don't understand why they don't receive the CHEERS gratuity (unless 2 different bartenders weren't honest with us?).

When I brought my 7 & 9 year old sons a few months ago, they would let the 9 year old move down but wouldn't let the 7 year old move up. The good news is that the 2 age groups are together for quite a lot of activities anyway, so it wasn't a huge problem, thankfully.

I would choose the Sunshine. I love that ship, plus it's 8 days!

I'd always book the longer cruise when possible!! The hotel and flight costs are the same, so why not squeeze in a few extra days at sea for what's usually a relatively nominal cruise fare increase??
Our very first family cruise I chose a 5 day because I was worried someone in the family might be prone to sea sickness and I didn't want to be stuck on a ship with sea sick kids for a week plus. After that trip we realized no one gets sea sick at all, so for our family cruises, we always choose 7 or 8 day sailings now, and even then the kids are complaining as we're disembarking that they don't want to leave the ship, lol.

Your room steward on the Dream will have you fill out a little questionnaire on a clip board when they introduce themselves to you. On that form you can indicate if you want your room cleaned morning, evening or both. You can also request anything extra you might need - robes, extra hangers, an ice bucket, etc. Our stewards have always returned very quickly with our requested items.

Super cute breakfast for only $5. We usually sign up on the first day - they've had a Seuss decorated table set up inside on Lido somewhere between the elevators and the glass sliding door to the deck. You can also call from your room to sign up.

What do you order from the deli?
in Carnival Cruise Lines
Posted
I order the BLT and ask them to please add turkey, cheese, and mayo.... BAM - clubhouse sandwich! I get a few toasted clubhouses each cruise - so simple but they're delicious.
